I would like to use this thread to thank SueM in MN and Cheshire Figment!party:

I have made many posts to this board. Questions about should or shouldn't I rent an ecv. What to expect at WDW using an ecv. Where to rent an ecv. I always received a quick and detailed response from the mods of this board.
I hope I didnt forget anyone, if I did let me know.

Since I received your help, starting about two months ago, I just paid for my ecv rental for my September trip. I picked Randy's for two reasons. His rates were reasonable and the great reports from others on these boards. The second is, everytime I called I got a "real" person, someone the could answer all my questions. I called and emailed every rental company in this thread and some I found online. Randys was the only one that could answer all my questions that I had compiled without having to call me back or put me on hold. The next day at work, I decided to make my reservations, so I called Randy's during my lunch break. I actually spoke to Randys wife. I asked a few more questions to verify their rental policies and told her I would call back after talking to my wife. Just to make sure I called the second choice for my rental, I was put on hold for 6 minutes before I hung up and called Randys back. I asked to speak with Randys wife again. She stopped her lunch break and took my reservations. She was very personable and friendly. Yes, you have to pay half for Randy's rental upfront and yes, you have to be there for delivery, but to me that is just another reason to rent from them, they care and want to make sure you understand their equipment.

So to you DIS DISABILITY MODS HATS OFF!

Thank you so much for your help!
I am sure when I get back I will have to thank you again for making me understand that renting an ecv was the thing to do.
It was hard, thinking about the "looks", swallowing your pride, and realizing it is the right thing to do.

Thanks Again,
David

Thank you for the thank you.:flower3:

There are lots of good people who make this board a wonderful place to be. When the board first started, I felt like I was talking to myself sometimes. It took a while to get off the ground, but thanks to all the great posters who make up our disABILITIES Community, it is a great place to be. :grouphug:

I am glad you feel satisfied with your choice of Randy's and I am quite sure you will be pleased when you come back. Please let us know how your trip went.

I will give you my thanks also. Even though I have been going to WDW for years I still get new insight to things from these boards.

And of course the only "payment" we receive for our work as moderators is the thanks that we get from people for working to keep the boards useful and friendly.

Thank you, both of you! I really appreciate all of your hard work and this board is so special. Full of information, kindness and in its own way, magic. :)

I don't post tons, even though I have been here for what seems like forever. But I always, always read this board, whether or not I have a Disney trip planned.

I will most certainly report, to this board, my first experience using an ecv at wdw. I wish we had more trip reports on these boards to help others feel more comfortable about renting ecvs when needed.
I think as an award we should ask to send the mods of this board, with "Bawb", to MK for a celebration dole whip!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks Again,
David

Thank you both, for all that you do! You've certainly helped make my recent trips easier!

I would also like to post thanks to the moderators - it is not an easy job and takes a great deal of time but without them this forum wouldn't be what it is.

To the OP - it is hard using an ECV for the first time especially if like me you can get up to walk the short distance to board a ride for example and you get all the looks and comments BUT for the sake of my family who otherwise have a miserable holiday with every day being cut short because I am in too much pain to continue (or have to do things without me whilst I rest in first aid) it is worth it.
