It is now almost 6:00 pm and I finally get my first cup of coffee! I woke up at 8:30 this am to howling winds and blinking lights. I ran downstairs to fix a pot of coffee before losing electricity, but alas, I did not even get my feet on the floor much less make it downstairs before the lights went out. I did what any normal person would do, I laid on my couch all day with the blinds pulled up and watched Gaston come and go. The winds were horrible and the rain was torrential. There are trees down all over the place
. So 10 hours later I am starting my day and am very thankful for electricity. I lived through Hugo almost 15 years ago and Gaston was nothing in comparison. My heart truly does go out the the people still trying to recover after Charly and I am sure that everyone on the east coast is watching the hurricane lurking out there as I type this. This has been a strange summer for weather. And yes, my first cup was good to the last drop!
