Thanks for the tip!

I just wanted to post a general thank you to everyone on the DIS. So much information is shared on these forums and you never know when that information may help you out in your personal life. I read a thread a long time ago and just filed the info in the back of my mind and when I needed it, it really came in handy.

Last night I was burning a 3-wick candle, it had burned for quite a few hours so it had a very liquid center. I walked passed the candle on my way to get a drink from the kitchen, I checked it and all was fine. I come out of the kitchen and I discover Niagra Falls in candle wax cascading from the candle, past the TV, down the front of the wall unit, passed the brass handles and onto the floor. I ran back to the kitchen to get some cups and started catching candle wax in them. However the damage to everything else was already done. After spending quite a bit of time scraping up wax I was still left with a huge mess. Then it hit me, I read somewhere on the DIS to heat the dried wax with a hairdryer and it would wipe right off. It was such a mess I didn't really think it would do too much good, but to my surprise the cleanup from that point on was a piece of cake.

So for all those tips people have posted I say thank you! Some day I may actually have a need for one of them once again.

LOL! He used to have that in his tag. Jason is infamous about being the long post police around here.

I love the tips people sneak in here every now and then. You never know when you'll need them.
