Just wanted to say thanks for the hotel booking info using the Loew's First card. Thanks to all of you here on the dis, I knew if I wanted my Loew's perks I needed to start with Loew's so I called the toll free Loew's number and then got switched to Universal.

Then I also knew to ask for the super saver rate and the AAA rates to compare the two and not take the rate the phone rep quoted at first. Saved me about $45 a night. :thumbsup2

And last, I knew to make sure my Loew's first number was noted on my reservation and the phone rep said I would get the regional gift, free newspaper, etc.

:thanks:

:)

I love saving money on trips.
And it was because of info i got on this site.

Have a great time.

Hey Robert,

I see you're next trip you're returning to RP. That's where we're booked. Any tips? Which tower should we request? Cheaper places to eat near RP? Etc.

:)

We prefer Tower 1 at the Royal Pacific. No freeway views even in the non-poolside rooms. Also you can go down the fire stairs for a shorter walk to Island of Adventure.

we requested a Poolview in tower 1 and got it, some people like views of the park. there is a thread on here with info on rooms people had.
Bubba`s mum had some pics of a room they had in tower 1, with awesome views of the park. One thing i would say ask for a high floor probably 5,6,or 7 Was thinking of trying for Tower3 poolview this year if i can.
Its all cheap to me , here in the UK and Ireland can be quite expensive to eat out, so prices in Florida are excellent.
We usually have food at the pool most days at Lunchtime from the Bula Bar, which i can recommend. We ate at Citywalk quite a few times. We went to Bahama Breeze on I`Drive which was recommended on here and had a lovely meal and quite reasonable. also Sweet Tomatoes on I`Drive gets good recommendations on here and is very reasonable in price.

This is the view from room 1729 (only 2 rooms down from the 1733 room). You would probably have this view for any ODD numbered room in Tower 1, 7th floor....but, more details on that to follow (when I find the map and paper I wrote room numbers on). You can see an awesome view of IOA and Hulk. We could see Spiderman, Suess Landing & Ripsaw Falls in the distance and Universal & Hard Rock hotel WAY FAR in the distance. I was extremely pleased with this view. The 2nd picture you can see the inside of our window, the curtains and a chair off to the right...gives you more of an idea of how big the window was and the actual view. In the 4th picture, you can see the waterway went right in front of our room with the walkway.

So, the best way to get a good deal is to talk with someone on the phone. (I really hate having to negotiate verbally, but have wicked haggling email skills). Is there a Loew's email address to request the same things. We will be staying at HRH Oct 13-17th,2008, and will use a AAA discount, and I already have a LOEW's FIRST number...

I would call because unless you go thru the AAA site (benefits not granted then), you can't book a AAA rate online...you would need to call them. There is nothing to "negotiate" the rate is what it is. Just ask what the AAA rate is. Ask what the SuperSaver rate is. Flat out ask them the best rate you are entitled to. They are VERY nice and very helpful there....Make sure to tell them you are a Loews First member and apply your number...(if you are Gold or Plat, you need to call anyway to ask if upgrade is available....)

Good luck! ;)

Hey,

BTW...for our trip the supersaver and the AAA rate was exactly the same so I booked supersaver. From some of the threads I've been reading, some people here on the dis have been told the AAA rate does not qualify for the Loew's First perks. And I verified the supersaver does if you book going through Loew's and not Universal with the phone rep.

:)

AAA DOES qualify :thumbsup2

I know two or three people said it does...then someone else was told no it didn't on another thread by a Universal person. If the price is the same, I'd rather be safe and take the one you know for sure qualifies.

I am absolutely positive it does...I've used it 4 times in 3 years now.... with my next trip being booked over the phone w/ AAA rate and all my benefits applying.

Actually, until just recently, we were unsure if the SUPERSAVER qualified.... :rolleyes1

I know...it's so hard to know what's what unless you've done it yourself. There's so many posts that directly contradict each other and I'm sure that each person is posting what they were really told or did.

Glad to know both rates qualify. :goodvibes

And BTW....thanks for posting pictures. :thumbsup2
