For all of your advice about getting to US/IOA and doing HP while staying offsite. Unfortunately, we won't be able to take advantage of it this trip. I just had a major car repair so I can't justify the $300+ it would cost us for the day for tickets/transportation/food. Since I never told my mom about it (it was going to be a surprise - she's a huge HP fan) she won't know she's missing it.

I guess I'll just have to plan a future trip!

Oh bummer. That happened to me last year. I just booked and then my car died! It broke my heart to cancel!

I ended up having a injury about 1 1/2 years ago after we booked our summer trip. I keep the trip still booked all the way up to the trip to see if I could get better. That never happened and had to cancel. But now we are finally booked for May for a week, doing better. So hang in there, things will come around.

Thanks for the kind comments. At least I don't have to cancel the trip! It just stinks being a grown-up sometimes. I was really looking forward to surprising my mom because she's such a Harry Potter fan.

I know that we'll make another trip. Actually, the last few trips have been US/IOA trips, while this current one is a WDW one. I'm just scaling back on all unneccessary costs to try to make up for the car repair (darn car).

I guess I'll just have to plan another US/IOA trip! One good thing is if I do that I'll stay on-site and we'll have plenty of time to see HP.
