I am so tired of people coming to work when they are sick and spreading their germs all over the office. Now tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I feel like I am catching it. People have been hacking, sneezing and coughing around me all week. And no, they would not get docked if they stayed home!

Do you have any Airborne? Get some and take it right away. Hope you don't get sick!

My advice to you is drink heavily tonight. That ought to kill whatever you have. :teeth: I'm not kidding. ;)

I hope you do feel better though. :)

Wash your hands, take your vitamins and some motrin and drink lots of fluids...heres hoping you won't catch it! I had a really bad sore throat last week....that's what I did and it was gone the next day. Have a happy turkey day!

Thanks! Sorry to be cranky - I can't stand it when I look in the mirror and see my eyes getting glassy!

People used to point to my husband at work and blame him because he had two small kids, but our kids never went to daycare, so the only place he could catch a cold WAS at work, but the people at work would always say, yeah, he's got kids, he's bringing it to work.

Such a bummer! Plus, some people are sick with the same cold differently. Right now we both have a sinus cold and he's sneezing constantly and his sinuses are bugging him; I just have a runny nose so I don't 'look' or 'sound' as sick, but I'm shedding virus just like he is. Most people are the most contagious before they start having symptoms, so you're catching stuff from people before they sneeze on you.

If my poor husband stayed home every time he was sick, he'd never have a job! I do think people should stay home if they're running a fever, because your viral load is usually extremely high at the onset of a fever. This from my MIL the nurse.

And I recommend Sambucol, which you can get at health food stores. It's elderberry flower extract, which has been proven to prevent viral replication in several studies, and has been used for hundreds of years. My husband calls it 'witches' brew'. :teeth:

Welllll......................... :rotfl2:

Unfortunately colds are contagious before the onset of symptoms, so even if they stayed home, you've already been exposed.

Maybe it's just on your mind with all the sick people around you. Maybe when you leave work you will feel better. I certainly hope so anyways. :)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :)

Darn, I keep forgetting to lock my desk!

We don't get docked for sick days at work, however, it is still a "mark" on your record that you were out. Maybe your co-workers are trying to minimize their "marks" or maybe their workload so much that missing a day would be a problem. I go to work when I have a cold. If I have a fever or a sore throat, I'll stay home. There are germs everywhere. Just wash your hands a lot and take your vitamins to minimize your chances of catching one :flower:

Oh and btw..airborne does really work and it tastes like Tang :teeth:

Sorry you're feeling yucky.. If they dont get in trouble then they should stay home.. Unfortunately at my work we have sick days but we're not allowed to use them too close together.. Last December I had something horrible.. It got better than got worse again in January.. I went to the dr continually and it would go away and come back.. I was still sick off and on into February and missed 4 days throughout this ordeal.. I had dr notes and my boss knew I was on antibiotics throughout the months and I got wrote up for missing too many days.. .. Luckily I havent been sick again since but its coming up on the winter season and Im hoping it doesnt come back this year..
