I have a big thank you to send to SueM in MN and to all of you on the disABILITIES board. We got back from WDW a few days ago, and I have to tell you that both my ASD kids made some breakthroughs while on this trip.
My oldest boy was more considerate and responsible on this trip, which has carried over into school, and my youngest got over a lot of his fears.
Thanks to SueM in MN, and her description of a roller coaster done with smilies, my youngest was on a roller coaster!
When we got to the parks I asked him if he remembered her post in response to my roller coaster question, and he said yes! That lady showed me with smilies how a coaster would be! Well, not even half an hour later my oldest boy took him on Dinosaur (or so he said), and instead took him on Expedition Everest. John absolutely loved it he ended up going on EE 9 times and on SM 7 times. He loves roller coasters now, and is not at all afraid of any of the rides anymore.
So thank you very much to all of you, and thanks to Sue who really helped my son out on our trip!
