This year I decided to wear a pedometer in the parks to see just how much we really were walking. (Yes, I am a geek/nerd. :rotfl2: ) The first full day we walked about 13 miles. The second day we were doing our final shopping and about to leave for WDW when I realized the pedometer was missing I retraced my steps but didn't see it - I thought the most likely place I lost it was at Louie's, where we had eaten lunch, but no go. They suggested I visit lost and found and at least fill out a form in case it turned up.

Yeah, right I thought, but hey, nothing to lose. Well, I did have to wait about 15 minutes while the three people working kept checking their computer and walking around...apparently they were looking for a Yankees cap that the teenager ahead of me had lost. (As a Boston Red Sox fan, I did not have a lot of sympathy. JK!) They found one Yankees cap, but it wasn't the one the kids lost. Anyway, no one had turned in a pedometer but I dutifully filled out my info.

Much to my surprise, I got a voicemail the next day saying they had found it! They wanted me to call before they mailed it. I didn't get around to returning the call until I got home a week later...they described the item, I confirmed it was mine, and the next day it arrived Fed Ex!

I was impressed! Thanks, Universal. And thanks to whoever found it and turned it in.

I lost my glasses the 3rd day of our holiday, was the next day before i realised they where lost, so called to see if they had been handed in at lost and Found. No luck, but decided to call back ,think it was about 4 days later and they had been handed in. So a big :thumbsup2 to L&F and all the honest people out there

when lost and found at universal helps me and spends the time to find my item, i send an email or written letter to the supervisor expressing my gratitude.

if i receive it while i am still staying at the on site hotel, i fill out a form at guest services.

i found out some years back that the employee you are grateful to, will receive a note in their files reflecting on a job done well. sometimes that employee will receive a perk from management then.

i always praise at least one UO employee each day i am at the parks.
and, i put it in writing of my appreciation for what they did for me.

just spreading the mummy dust to them also.

Oh macraven, that's so nice! Thank you for the suggestion...I just may have to do that on our upcoming trip!

Macraven, thanks for mentioning! I will do that. The person I dealt with left her name, so I'll send a note and hope it makes it into her personnel file.

you can use the email guest services has or send a snail to guest services.

whoever you send it to request it be sent to the supervisor at gs.

i am quick to write out praises for the tm's.
i can easily find 2 i can let gs be aware of that are super.

it only takes about 5 minutes of my time to do that each day i am in the park.
