Tom and I are in the Saga lounge as we wait the few hours for our flight to Newark. We used to travel to or from Europe on whatever airline he had status with when he worked. He is retired, and we were dreading coach seats home from our EBTA cruise. This Iceland Air journey has been great. From Copenhagen, we had plenty of leg room, and a meal with wine included. We had a very nice 2 night stop over in Iceland, took a Grand Circle bus tour, mostly in rain, or heavy clouds.

We have access to Saga Lounge now while waiting for our flight. The food and comfort level here is amazing.

I never would have known about Economy Comfort level if not for Disboards. Hope someone else can learn from here, too!

Thanks for the info, good to know. Love the idea of being able to do a stopover in Iceland. One quick question for you, what was the Castaway Stateroom gift? Have a nice, safe flight home.

Platinum gift, backpack with 2 DCL thermal mugs. They are packed away in our luggage.

Thanks for the review, we are planning on using Iceland Air comfort class next year on our
way to Dover for our wbta cruise. DH is mobility challenged and he needs the extra room.
Three years ago we used SAS ecomony plus and it was also very good.

I just came home from Europe on Icelandair and though I like the airline I find the Reykjavik airport to be a hot mess. It was a bit confusing when I first flew thru in 2015 but it was manageable. Now it is a really difficult airport to get thru. Our plane unloaded outside on to buses for a ride to a side door into a terminal where the gate display boards were not displaying all the flights and we had to stop at an info desk to find out where our connection was leaving from. The terminal hall was very small with several US flights leaving within 90 mins of each other and the crowd was unbelievable in that small area! No personnel either from the airport or Icelandair were available/seen helping coordinate. What a mess that was! I felt sorry for the gate agents who seemed overwhelmed. I don't think I want to connect thru Reykjavik again.

Thanks for the review on the Reykjavik airport! We'll be doing the Northern European cruise from Copenhagen next year and I'm gathering data on 'where not to connect.' Lol, not sure there will be any 'good' cities to connect through. I have 1 friend that said to stay away from the Paris airport after her bad experience there. DD17 connected through London on the way home from Germany and that didn't sound like fun either--but at least her flights arrived and departed on time. I do hope to visit Iceland by itself someday (during the Northern Lights "season"), but at least that won't be a connection!

We flew Icelandair Sega class from Denver in July 2016. We had wonderful flights. But I would agree the Reykjavik airport is a mess. Almost all planes debark on a far away tarmac and are bussed to the terminal. Inside the terminal, there are very few places to sit down. Most planes arrive and depart within a two hour timeframe in the morning and afternoon and the congestion was horrible. However, I will say they are constructing more terminals and gates so sometime in the future, this won't be as much of a problem. It must be difficult to do construction in Iceland with their weather conditions. I would still recommend Icelandair because the short time you are in the airport is a small part of your flights. There is a nice cafeteria and gift shop in the airport but because of our short connection time, we didn't have time to enjoy them.

What I found actually funny about the airport was that after you go thru their customs lines the exit is thru the gift shop! Literally!!!
