Occasionally, friends and family will ask my wife and me about the value of DVC and if it’s worth it. I always say the same thing: “It depends on how much you love and want to travel to Disney yearly.” People often say, don’t you tire of going to Disney on vacation? And for me, that would be a no, but honestly, that was not the same for my kids as they got older or my wife. Thank you to disboards for the rental thread.
I have had the luxury of renting out years of my points to travel all over. We traveled to Paris and Rome, Hawaii (not Aulani), and just general vacation spots during the years. Next year, I'm finally going on a Disney cruise, renting out points. So, DVC has been totally worth it for me. However, I didn’t realize how much until this year.
My son and his girlfriend mentioned their plans to get married in 2027 to us. Yeah, that’s years away, but I understand why kids may need to plan years now for a wedding. Holy crap, the price. Again, thank you, DVC.
I started renting out my points, and as a wedding gift to them, we will be able to pay for their wedding simply by renting out my points for a couple of years, 3 to be exact, after paying the dues as well.
So, in the future, when a friend or someone asks, "Was DVC worth it?" It will be a very happy Hell Yes!!
