Just wanted to convey my many thanks to all the DISers on these threads that helped me make important decision for my recent visit to DL. I've written a report on the report threads which is here http://www.disboards.com/threads/4-...-west-coast-adventure-lots-of-photos.3531303/

I don't know if this link will work but I did put in mostly pictures because that is what I like to see in reports. Again, thank you all for your input, it helped make very good decisions for my vacation and we all had a great time. Thanks again.

Great trip report! I am taking my 9 yr old Grandson to DL in two weeks so I found your report particularly helpful. It's just the two of us and it's our first visit so everything is new to us. I do have a question.....my GS is also autistic. It is not overly apparent but he gets VERY anxious in long lines. How did the "return time" passes work for you? We wouldn't need a stroller for him but any help preventing "meltdowns" would sure be appreciated! Did you have to provide the CM at City Hall with documentation about your GS' autism or is this something you just discussed?
Thanks for any advice you can offer!

You do not provide them documentation and you do not say "...has autism." They just need to know the symptoms and what causes them. So I'm our case we have sensory overload due to noise. They can see my child has on noise canceling headphones so we're making an effort to remedy the situation. We state what will happen if there is overstimulation...head hitting.

This provision from Disney is very helpful. Definitely take advantage of it.

Loved your trip report! Can I ask what kind of camera you are using? You've got several shots that I've tried for, and wondering if it's camera vs operator error :)

We simply went to City Hall first day as soon as we got in and spoke to the CM there, no documentation is needed they just want to know how they can help. We used the stroller as a wheelchair so he could stay in it on the queues and it worked really well for us. She gave us a guide that was marked with the rides we can use return times and rides that needed a fast pass. It was a lot simpler than what we thought. She gaves us several options, which are according to the specific disabilities. Definitely take advantage of it.

Believe it or not the pictures were taken with our phones. My DD's phone is a iPhone 6S and mine is a Galaxy 7 Edge.

One more suggestion to Liam'sMimi, definitely try to fit in breaks in the day, we did and it helped a lot with my DGS. We left the park at the hottest time of the day and came back late afternoon. Since the DL is open until midnight, it worked very well for us. Also, if you plan on seeing PTN look at my pictures and you should be able to see with the HC section is, it was perfect because that is where the parade starts and they really monitor the area very well but it is for wheelchairs only so I would consider the stroller if you can. We rented a very large stroller from Deckerts and it really worked well for us because it gave him the privacy he needed in such large crowds. It kept him very calm in all the chaos of the crowds. Let me know if you have any other questions I could help you with. Have a great trip!!

I may have to use my phone more! Thanks! I've heard the 6Ss can take some good photos, just haven't tried it much!
