We booked CM at ods request(its one of the things he can recall from our '08 trip) then I felt badly not having a second character meal and after reading reviews booked Tusker House.
Now I am rethinking CM at all. I have them back to back days breakfast TH at 8:20 am and CM 7:50 am on MK day. Should I skip CM? Or should I consider Ohana or another monorail resort breakfast instead? We have Ohana Dinner as well. We have 2 boys, almost 3 and 5.

For the MK day I would book breakfast at Crystal Palace (CP). Looking at your boys' ages, etc. it has the Pooh characters and most young boys like Pooh. Eating at the CP will give you a jump into the MK as well. I also think that their breakfast buffet is far better than CM. Just MHO.

I agree with Disney Crazy Debbie! I would switch your CM to CP. Much better breakfast at CP and gives you a head start into MK. Whatever you do, keep your Tusker House ressie! It is, by far, the best breakfast anywhere on property!

I agree with the previous posts. I'd switch CM for CP for the reason stated above. And, yes, definitely keep Tusker House....it was our fav breakfast last year...followed by CP. :)

LOVE Tusker House for breakfast! I'm a total Chef Mickey's hater  so I agree with the PP and say get a Crystal Palace ADR. Love the food and the characters are just so darn sweet! :thumbsup2

Thanks, My kids dont care much about Pooh, yds has no idea who he is:eek: I didnt read very good about CP either. Not sure what to do.
ETA_ we defintly are keeping TH though, I am excited.

I agree as well! Keep Tusker House, but move your other breakfast ADR to Crystal Palace. You won't lose as much park time with that one and you won't have to leave your resort as early--breakfast doesn't start until 8 at CP. 7:50 at Chef Mickey's is awful early, especially since you can't get a bus directly there. You have to go to MK and then walk to CM or take the monorail. Also, like others have said, the food at CP is better (IMO)!

We've been to all of the places you're considering: Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Ohana and Crystal Palace. (We have three boys, ages pre-school to pre-teen and have been taking them to Disney since our oldest was a year old - so we've done lots of character meals!) I'd definitely recommend keeping Tusker House - we love it! I'm not a fan of Chef Mickey's (although we did try it multiple times) so I'd skip that one.

As for a replacement ADR, while Crystal Palace is fine, I don't think it's that great if your kids don't recognize and love the Pooh characters. Our two older boys never liked Pooh much but our youngest likes those characters. The fun of Crystal Palace is watching him recognize and interact with them. Last trip, we just did that at AK instead and made our breakfast ADRs for Tusker House and Ohana.

I'd definitely recommend Ohana for breakfast. We had 7:30am ADRs there in January and again earlier this month. We were seated immediately both times and easily made it to MK before the 8:50am opening show. Even if your kids don't know Lilo and Stitch, Mickey and Pluto are great. I like the food - the juice, pineapple bread, fresh fruit, Mickey waffles and (I'm alone on this one) the bacon are all favorite - they also serve biscuits, eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc. It's a MUCH more relaxing character meal than CP or CM with the food served family style (not buffet) and overlooking the lagoon with the castle in the distance. We stayed at the Poly in January so that was easy, but it was also easy earlier this month to catch a cab from BC.

Happy Planning! :wizard:

Thanks, we are keeping Tusker House no doubt. I am trying to get Dh and ods to make the decision on what they want for the other since I cant decide. Wish they had a place that cooked breakfast to order, some nice eggs benedict or huveros ranchos, YUM along with characters:cloud9:

Are the scrambled eggs even real eggs or are they those instant/egg beaters kind? (GAG) Im not a fan of scrambled eggs as it is.

HI , I love CP and TH also :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We have ARD for CP and TH this June ,

Have a Great Trip:goodvibes

Mary;)

Ok, another option. Drop CM and on our dhs day do the breakfast with oso. Any opinions on it? Is it Hollywood and vine? We do not have ADR on dhs day

Bumping for input on H&V
What characters, I have read a few differnt. How is the food in comparison to CM?
Thank you for advise
