Is there such a thing?

If you're with someone and they get a text message - do they answer it in front of you? Is that cool popcorn:: with you or does it get you steamed?:headache:

Let me know how you feel about text messaging.....

It depends. If we're at the movies, then it's rude. If we're holding a conversation, then it's rude. If we're just walking through a store shopping, I don't care if they answer it.

I personally am not into text messaging. I RARELY ever send one and don't care to receive them. If I have something to tell someone, I call them. If someone wants to tell me something, call me! I'd rather hold a conversation that way.

Me and DD were sitting next to each other at the Blast indoor soccer game last night . Texting each other like the commercial.

She just had it enabled a few days ago and it took a while for it to show on her phone so we had to try it out.

I think it's no different then a phone call excuse yourself and text away. Some places it should not be done and is rude to the people your with.

Better that than they take a phone call in front of you. But it is annoying in certain circumstances, i.e. you are out to eat with somebody and they spend the meal texting someone else.

I agree- it's better than having a phone conversation. Most people can text and keep up with whatever else they're doing. Now, if they were getting texts every two minutes, that would get annoying!

I usually feel rude text messaging if I am with someone, but if it is a group of people I don't.

And I don't text people if I am with someone. I just answer (because then I think that would be rude, depending on who it was)

I have Text Messages saved on my phone as replies so all I do is hit 3 buttons and they get a message that I cant talk and I'll text them back when Im free.. takes less then a minute to do..

My phone makes a beep when a text message is received. Twice a co-worker woke me up when I was traveling by sending me a text message in the middle of the night! I changed it to silent and hope I check it.

I prefer text to actual phone calls. Phone calls are very hard for me to understand and few people want to put up with my constant please repeat that or what was that. I keep mine on vibrate if I am at church, in a show or out with people. THing is I rarely hear it anyway if it is on sound unless things are completely silent.

Doesn't really bother me.

But then again not much does when it comes to little things like this.

I love it when my niece gets them when I'm around. I steal her phone and have a conversation with her friend. Drives her nuts but her friends all think I'm cool.
