Texas to open 100%

Remember. This is the state that just had a massive power outage and people living with no water or electric for a good period of time. Is this the state we really want to use as an example of what to do with the pandemic?

Of course not. It’s a bad decision. I bet you there’s going to be a huge spike in cases right after spring break. He probably did this to turn the focus away from our winter debacle.

What will be interesting is how easily people adapt to a non-restricted, non-masked existence. My daughter had a volleyball tournament in the middle of nowhere last weekend and the town was like a time warp to 2019. Nobody wore masks. I was so uncomfortable. I’m sure it’s going to take me awhile to feel like walking around without a mask and sitting shoulder to shoulder watching kid sports is a normal occurrence.

That is how I have been living Since summer. Tons of events like that and activities and such. My husband did a karate tournament last Friday and he said it was packed and no masks or anything. I still only own like 4 masks since I go so few places that require them.

Yeah, makes sense why Texas would be first.

Since January 1st, 2020, 35,478 children under the age of 18 died in America.

204 of them were from Covid.

No school, no sports, no friends....

For what? Is the damage we are doing to our youth worth the extremely minimal risk?
People over the age of 18 work in schools as teachers, principals, lunch staff, janitors, etc. Kids often bring illnesses home from school, infecting parents.

The risks from in person school go beyond those under the age of 18.

Why would you have your umbrella open if you’re not getting wet? Unless maybe you’re inside? In which case it’s bad luck to open an umbrella indoors.
Are you purposely misunderstanding this? An umbrella keeps you dry in the rain. Closing the umbrella because you’re dry doesn’t mean it’s not raining anymore. Meaning, take away the protection of the umbrella in the storm and you’re going to get wet. You’ll only stay dry if you leave it open.

I’ve personally never been a fan of all or nothing but good luck to Texas.

Protection from a umbrella? It’s only rain not going to kill you like covid can.

A good portion of my family live in the Houston area. My sister, aunt, cousins have all had it and recovered. An Uncle passed away from COVID last year. So In no way do I not take this seriously.

But remember 2 weeks to break the curve? Then the new normal. I know many people that will NEVER be comfortable again without a mask or being around people.

At some point you have to get back to living though.

I know a few of these. I’m positive they are so psychologically messed up after this year that they'll never be around people again. One person at work was going nuts about Texas opening up. Girl relax. We are across the country. Her and her husband are both vaccinated and they still refuse to leave the house. She sits in her corner and refuses to get near anyone. I feel bad for her daughter who hasn’t had any other human contact in a year.
