Maybe in the server upgrade some of our old threads were removed (?) because I cannot seem to find the thread about Texas de Brazil. I assumed it was right arround Kevin's review of Ohana's which was April '07 but according the the first post, this board didn't start until May??? Am I losing my mind? Anyway, I just wanted to say due to the fine people here, I am celebrating my birthday at a restaurant I've never been to nor heard of before the podcast. I've never driven by this place (because it's about 2 hrs from me!) but everyone spoke so highly of it, when DH asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner I told him I wanted to go to Texas de Brazil. So Corey, I'm taking you advice and going hungry this Sunday! Whoo hoo!:woohoo: See? We do listen to you guys (and Julie!) here!

~Stacy

You are in for a great time, Stacy!

Texas de Brazil opened here just within the last year, but we've been about 10 times. It is a total carnivore's paradise!

Make sure you sign up for their e-club. Either do it on the website or you may have a comment card w/ your bill. I get emails from the about once a month with buy one, get one free specials - which comes in extremely handy, given how expensive it is! I think the latest coupon is for Superbowl Sunday, but DH doesn't want to go :sad2:

My favorites are the parmesan encrusted chicken & pork and the house special. Try to get the outside piece of the house special - it has all the salt & seasonings and is to die for!!

Man, now I'm craving TdB...

We did sign up for the e-club and got a 25% off coupon plus I got a coupon for a free meal since it's my birthday. It's a shame you couldn't talk DH into Superbowl Sunday - that is when we are going! We decided to do the Sunday brunch. I can't wait!

If you like Red Meat this is the resturant to go to.
My wife, Kortney and I went to one in Aruba.
I LOVED it. I've been begging to go back to one somewhere since.
But she' not much of a red meat fan so it's hard to justify the price
if you don't eat that. (and it is a bit pricey)
There is some chicken and pork but not much.
Think of it as an All You can Eat Steak Place.
Tip: The meal starts out on salad, when your ready you can start on the steak. GO light on the salad. There's plenty of meal to fill you up.

I am not certain that all of the TdBs do this, but at the Orlando restaurant, you can opt for just the salad bar.

This cuts the price in half (approximately).

Just an option for those that arent red meat lovers.

That doesn't sound like ANY fun! ;) just kidding of course! cheaper, but I'm going for the non-Ohana meat!!!!

going on Sunday got a buy one get one free coupon. One of the best restaurants out there.

I had dinner at the Memphis TdB a few months ago. OMG! The food was wonderful. I could do the salad bar along for dinner. The salad bar at TdB is so much more then your lettuce and tomato fair. There were various meats, cheeses and seafood. I wish there was one nearby.

We went to the TdB in Memphis for lunch one day, we started only wanting the salad bar, but after we went up to it a few times, tasted the wonderful things there, DH and I looked at each other and said, "If the salad bar is that good, we have to try the meat!"

We haven't been to the one in Richmond yet, Annette, do you know if they serve lunch there yet?

No, not yet. The website still says "Lunch: Coming Soon" so I called the restaurant to ask if they knew when it would start and they didn't.

So, Stacy - what did you think?

I've never done brunch before. What kind of stuff did they have?

Yummm! You guys did not steer me in the wrong direction! That was the best birthday lunch ever (well, except for the one on the Disney cruise!) Having never been there before to be able to compare, I asked - we were told the brunch was the same as the lunch with the addition of yummy scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, croissants, muffins, fruit salad and walnut french toast (there might have been other things that I am missing). It was so good! Plus we got permission to use the 25% coupon off the brunch price which for the 6 of us - well, really 5 since the baby was free - was a $45 savings. It's become a new favorite place to go! :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Brunch sounds wonderful! We need to give it a try some time.

I just want to add that I signed up for their email club and got a coupon for a free meal on my birthday. (not a buy one get one free, just a free meal for me) Too bad I was no where near a Texas de Brazil on that day:mad:
They are also extending their half off coupon offer, I just got another one in my email today.
My DH and I just loved the whole experience! Can't wait to get back there and eat meat from sword thingies!:rotfl:

DW went once while in Orlando on business (couldn't get to Disney though) and loved it. I would love to go. I am there the next time we are there with a car.

Glad to hear the great reviews. I'm going to the one in Schaumburg, IL in August. Can't wait....

Just wondering so I am not having sticker shock at the front door. We are gonna give it a try too!!!

Not sure if it's the same everywhere, but here it's $42.99 per person. Kids 6 & under are free. Kids 7-12 (I think those are the ages) are $24.99. If you opt to do just the "salad bar" it's $24.99.

Geez, that's expensive! I was going to give it a try on my next trip to Orlando, but only if I can talk someone into coming with me, and I get a BOGO coupon. I just can't eat enough red meat to justify that.
