Texas De Brazil

Never been to TDB but would expect it to be a lot better. Totally different kind of eating, not really to compare. Sweet Toms is around $8/head. Texas is around $40/head. ST is based around salad/soup/pasta, Texas around Meat.
Both places have websites that offer buy one get one free or discounts if you register(enter your birthday for a a couple of days befiore travelling).

We have had such great meals from $3.99pp never felt the need to spend $40+ but I believe they do great food there. I think UKDeb has been she will tell you more when she reads this. We prefer very informal relaxed dining, TDB looks a bit too OTT for us, but maybe I am wrong.

Another place we have not been that got very good reviews last year when it opened was The Carving station at The Crossroads LBV. It opened while we were there last August, so just over a year ago. Its a buffet but supposed to be very good quality, prime rib and crab legs and ribs about $22pp
There is a 10% voucher to print on their website. http://www.carvingstation.net/index.html

Unfortunatley i have never visited the TDB in Orlando either. Although i have been to TDB in Dallas and thought it was amazing and well worth the $50 ahead (not including tip, drinks or dessert). I love my meat and just thought it was brilliant.

I know what Wayne is saying though and it just depends on what you want to gey out of your dinning. You can certainly find great food for alot less than TDB. DGF and i dont havent got children yet and one of the things we find most enjoyable about our visits is our evenings out both dinning and enjoying a drink on the boardwalk or DTD.

Umm all that lovely food, cant wait to get back, roll on Jan.;)

We ate there a week ago...

Great restaurant. There is a huge buffet of various salads and appetisers etc. There is a big pot of lobster bisque. There is a selection of hot sides (potatoes, mushrooms, black beans etc). They also bring you a couple of sides (hot bananas and some mashed potatoes). Then you just pick and choose the meats that come around on swords and the gouchos will carve you off a portion. The meats were TOP quality (great top sirloin, fantastic fillet mignon wrapped in bacon, rack of lamb, parmesan crusted pork, chicken, beef rib, brazilian sausage). I wouldn't take a vegetarian there, though. It was quite expensive - a little under $50 a head plus tip and drinks - BUT the food was top qaulity and it was a great experience. If you sign up for their online club, they will send you a 25% discount voucher off your food (which is well worth having).

My husband and I are good eaters, but I felt that neither of us had the appetite (or stomach capacity!) to do the place real justice: we saw some people put away an AMAZING amount of food... Go there VERY hungry and don't overdo it on salads and sides (concentrate on the meat).

:wave2:

Texas de Brazil is an up-market buffet and Alice has pretty much summed it up. You could make a meal of the salad/apetiser bar in itself (and it's tempting to do just that, but you do need to hold back, although I loved the lobster bisque). The trick to getting the most for your money, I suspect, is to pace yourselves. Each diner receives a disc which is green on one side, red on the other. You simply place it alongside your plate - green signifies to the roaming, sword-wielding servers that you're ready for meat, red inidicates that you're taking a break. As Alice says, the meat is top quality. Sign up online and you'll receive regular emails with great discounts.

We really enjoyed it and thought it was worth what we paid. I'm not sure that we'd rush back, though.

Me and DBF are planning on visiting TDB on our next holiday and thanks to advice on here I tired to join the online club. However when I try and register you have to put in an American zip code, how has everyone else registered??

sounds a bit like ohanas? if so will def visit next year

Vaguely in principle yes a bit, but in execution a WORLD away... I wasn't impressed by Ohanas (didn't think that the meat was up to much...), but Texas de Brazil was up to (if not surpassing) my incredibly high/picky standards...
