I just bought some Teva Tanza's and my wife got some Teva Tirra's for our August trip to DW.

I'm a big dude and my wife is a more average lady. Did we make good selections for use at the parks? My feet and ankles get sore from walking my 300 lbs around all day so I need a good solid sandal. Did I make a good choice. TY

I've worn Tevas and Crocs in the park. I prefer my crocs although the Tevas are comfortable as well. For so reason my feet always get a burning feeling on the bottom after wearing my Tevas all day long. But I wear a different Teva model than you bought. I prefer the Teva Mush flip flops.

My husband is around your size and I'm small/average sized and we both wear Teva mush flip flops just about every day, all day. I don't know about the particular kind you got but I can tell you if they are anything like the mush you will be just fine.

As a big man myself (300+ lbs/ size 13 EEEE foot), I can relate. But for my money, you can't beat mesh New Balance sneakers. They come in all sizes and widths. They have great cushioning. They air out REAL WELL. They dry quickly (for those water rides). And they are quick to break in. New Balance also puts out at Teva-esque type sandal as well. Has a hard sneaker sole, topped by a spongy material to comfort and conform your foot. It is secured by 2 velcro adjusted platic clips.

i would start wearing them and see what you think. I had Teva last year and my DD and I hated the mush flip flops and the sandals were not any better. Our feet were killing us. We will stick with the Crocs. So you see everyone feels different. I just wished I took my own advice and wore them before we went to Disney.

I love my Tevas! I have ones that are similar to yours and my daughter got the ones your wife wore. I've been wearing mine to Disney for years! They are anti-bacterial and can be worn in the water yet dry really quickly. I'm a runner so I hate wearing tennis shoes except to run (makes your feet too hot!) and my doctor has recommended against crocs (they are really bad for people like me with 'bad' feet). I think you made a good choice but totally agree with other posters - wear them (a lot!) before you go to Disney! Take nice long evening walks and hit your local zoo and some other 'long' walk spots. It will help!

One other recommendation, change your shoes at Disney. While my doctor recommends changing your shoes everyday, I end up changing them 2 or 3x per day at Disney. It keeps your feet from hurting and it works! For me, Tevas in the AM, flip flops for the pool (only for the pool - horrible shoes to walk around parks - really bad for you for that), and dansko sandals for the PM.

I'm no doctor myself but I have really bad feet and have to take care of them. Being a runner also doesn't help my cause! So I've learned LOTS of shoe tricks!

I have foot problems myself (I am a female) I am slightly overweight/average but I have flat feet, achilles tendonitis and plantar fasticis. Shoes are concern for me also. I am going in August also, I think what I am going to do I bought a pair of orthopedic flip flops I am going to put them in my bag and then maybe change into them midday and wear my New Balance sneakers also and switch them up, I am trying to build up to the walking by taking more walks, I would take some walks in your sandals to break them in and see how you feel, but I would bring sneakers as well to change up your shoes, I am bring two pairs of sneaker, Merrell sandals and my orthoheel flip flops which all have good arch support, was an expense, but these shoes are good for me and my foot problems.

We had Teva's for our trip too. We wanted a cross between a sandal and a sneaker. They definitely fit the bill. They breathe well and are very durable. My only advise is to break them in before the trip to avoid blisters and take a spare pair of sneakers just in case. We find that wearing the same shoes over and over with all that walking can make any shoe uncomfortable after a while, but that the occasional switch from teva to sneaker was a perfect balance for foot comfort. ;)

I wore them to the zoo yesterday. Walked for 3-4 hours in them and they seemed fine. My back was acting up a bit, but it's been acting up for abotu 3 weeks now, I don't think it was shoe related. We're going to the WI state fair on Sunday which is a LONG day of walking. We'll see how the ol Tevas hold up out there. thanks for the input

I can say the Tirra that your wife bought are fabulous. I love mine so much I bought another pair in case the original pair wears out.

I was on my feet at Epcot all day with no break and stayed through evening EMH and my feet were great. Normally I have to take a 3 hour break just to rest my feet. I did put Body glide on my feet in the morning.

I've never tried Tevas but recently bought Keens and love them. I have a narrow foot and they fit well.

You won't be disappointed. They are the only thing that I will wear in the parks. They breathe well and stay on your feet while you enter and exit any ride cars.
I've worn them for all our trips. I have only had one issue where one pair had an arch that was too high. My own fault for no trying them ahead of time. Teva has many varieties. If you don't favor the current pair. I'm sure they have one that works. I actually prefer ones that are rather firm. You will want to wear them quite a bit ahead of time so you don't get blisters at the straps. Have a good trip!

I wear Teva dozers. I am an overweight woman and my feet always seem to be a problem of late but the Teva's are great. This style if sort of a cross between sneakers and sandals. They are very light weight, unlike most sneakers, and they dry quickly. I weat crocs but I have to be very careful because I have gotten blisters with them.

I thought I was going to wear Tevas to Disney in the fall, so I tried them out on a day of walking in NOLA.

I came home with 4 blisters. The two on my little toes were really bad; I had to cut the blood out of my calluses. Icky.

So needless, I won't be wearing my Tevas.

I think though, it's probably my foot shape. I have a native foot. Super wide, high arch. The tevas just rub my feet in exactly the wrong place.

I think I'm sticking with my Nikes this trip. I may try out a pair of Columbia sandals that are similar to a flip flop but have a back strap and the straps are all gel lined.
