Ok, I've heard alot about these and since we're going to WDW in the summer, I thought they might be a good alternative to the usual sneakers. But I'm not ready to order on line...I'd want to try them on prior to buying, especially since I've got wide feet and I don't see wide sandals on their website.

So who is a Teva person here? What style do you wear? How do you feel they hold up under a Disney day?

Overwhelm me with information! ;)

I am a first time Teva buyer myself. I did go try on a pair at my local department store (Dillards) to see what size I wear and what I liked. First let me say, it doesn't matter if you have a wide foot, because all the straps are adjustable with velcro to fit your foot perfectly!!

I recommend the Circuit Leather, because they are very comfortable, (I haven't worn them to Disney yet, but will in a few short days!, but I have been wearing them everyday since I got them a month ago!). They are waterproof leather as well. You can check out all the features at Teva.com.

Good Luck!

I live in my Tevas at Disney and all summer at home. They are VERY comfy. I have the Pretty Ruggeds. They stay on when wet- and dry fairly fast- which is a plus at Disney. I've had no problems wearing them for a full day in the parks. I've even hiked in the White Mts with them.

You should definately try on any sandals that you are considering. I bet that I tried on 100 different pairs of sandals before I went with a pair by Nike. I had my heart set on Tevas, but I couldn't find a pair that fit my feet comfortably. I wore the Nike sport sandals to Disney las August with absolutely no problems.

Anywhere from $40- $90+
My Pretty Ruggeds were $65 at EMS. They fit my feet so perfectly that they were worth every penny.
The $40 ones aren't as comfortable for me. Not as much padding.
My DD liked mine so much better- I bought her some PrettyRuggeds to replace her $40 pair.

I simply adore my Tevas!!!! I've worn them for the last 3 Disney trips and got absolutely no blisters, which used to be a big problem for me. I also have Pretty Ruggeds (leather). I've also tried the Nike Straprunner sandals, but got terrible blisters with these, so I cannot recommend them.

Good luck!

Thank you for all the feedback.

Since I don't have a Dillards around me, where else can they be purchased?

EMS(Eastern Mt. Sports), LLBean.com, Teva.com.
EMS is the only actual store near me that sells them.
It is good to try them before you buy.

If you go to teva.com , on the right side of the page near the top, click on where it says "other stuff" - it is a drop down menu. Click on "dealer near you", enter your zip code & it will tell you where to get them or at least try them on.

We buy ours at LLBean, on line ("wicked easy", as we around here). It is very important to ajdust them to your foot so they fit properly, so you might want to pay a bit more and buy them at a local full service shoe or sporting goods store. Of course once thay are adjusted to your feet, they are super comfortable.

I don't remember what style mine are, but we went with materials we could get wet in case we walk thru a fountain or something. So no leather here; I think the straps are Nylon (very comfy) and a hard plastic bottom with an uneven surface so it both breathes and stimulates the soles of your feet.

they carry teva's at Bob's! i saw them last weekend. for women they had the pretty ruggeds (in the dewdrop light blue pattern) and the hurricanes. the pretty ruggeds were $65 and they were having a sale! i think they were 20% off. the hurricanes were $40.

i got my pretty rugged's last summer in provincetown while on vacation, i had heard sooo much about them on the dis that i splurged and spent the $65. i love them!!!!! i'm trying to justify buying another pair LOL

Everyone is different. I could never get Tevas that were comfortable on my foot, the front triangle ring always sits right over a prominent bone I have. My Straprunners were fine right out of the gate, though my feet do get sore eventually. Now I have new Merrells that I think are going to be even more comfy, b/c they have a more sneaker-y sole w/ better arch support.

One thing I can promise, though ... I will NEVER wear a conventional sneaker in a theme park ever again. Sport sandals rule as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, BTW, if you're a woman w/ wider feet, consider buying a man's sandal 2X smaller than your regular size. (If you wear a 9, buy a 7, etc.) Men's medium shoes are made just a bit wider.

I too found that the "strappy" Tevas didn't work for me (my feet are a tad wide too). I purchased Teva Niyati from Zappos, and they are great! It's a thong with a wide band, and they are also waterproof. They are so comfortable that I searched ebay and found a seller who has them listed for half of the Zappo's price, so I'm buying an additional pair, in a different color. Just a note in case anyone wants to look into these, order the next size up, because they tend to run small.

Going to Disney in June, can't wait!

Tried a pair today and they just didn't do it for me.

So now I'm looking for other suggestions. I've heard Merrells and Nikes. Any other feedback?

Got some Merrells today. They seem nice. I've also been told ecco's are good. And I was looking at some others at Galyan's. I won't know about the Merrells until I break them in.

I bought my Tevas at DSW shoe warehouse......do you have one of those in your area??? I hope I helped.

I wore mine all day everyday at Disney!!!!!!!!! I have very little arch so it usually makes it even harder to find shoes that I can wear all day.

I'm one of those that don't care for Tevas....I find the pastic/nylon rubs my feet and is not at all comfortable. I do have an older leather pair that is okay but they don't make too many like that. I find Merrells are great! I love them sooooooo comfy  . Timberlands & Dansko also make a great comfy sandals...if you don't have a local store try www.zappos.com shipping is free, so is return shipping, I typically order about 4 pairs to try and then usually just keep one!
