One of the things that made our last trip so special was that my dad was able to come down and spend a week with us. Living out of the country we don't get a chance to see him very often (if we're lucky once a year) and it's usually only for a short time. So letting my kids spend a week with Grandpa at Disney was an incredible experience.
For the most part, my dad was content to just do whatever we wanted, because he was happy to be spending time with the kids, but there were a couple of attractions that he really wanted to make sure that we did, because they are his favorites. One of those rides was Test Track. It just so happens that our whole family is also wild about this ride, so as you can imagine we made sure we rode it quite a few times.

One of the things I like most about Test Track is the uniqueness of it. I mean sure, everyone loves the final mad dash around the track with the wind whipping through your hair, and the hope that your car might somehow break the track record when your speed is shown on the giant radar (hey we can hope can't we), but for me TT is so much more than just that last high speed run.
I love the way that Disney makes you feel like you are actually participating in a real test run of a car. From the bumpy roads and the hair-pin turns, to the hot and cold chambers that alternately bake and freeze you, every part of this ride is just full of unique elements that you don't find on any other ride.
Plus they have a few little surprises that make you jump the first time you experience them - like putting you in the place of the crash test dummies as you plunge full speed towards that wall, or when the headlights of that on-coming truck suddenly are staring you right in the face.
To me, TT is one of Disney's better family oriented rides because it allows the whole family to experience such incredible and unique thrills in such a way that your 10 year old daughter will find as much pleasure as will your 70 year old father.
I also think they've done a good job of making the queue interesting enough to keep you occupied so that they wait doesn't seem so bad.

About the only negative I might have about this ride is the constant breaking down it seems to be noted for. Thankfully it didn't happen to us, but I can only imaging getting stuck in the "oven" on a blistering hot day would not be a very good thing.

So what are your feelings towards TT? Is it on your "not to be missed" list of rides as well? Do you have any funny or interesting memories of riding it?

I"m glad you got to have your dad with you. My partner and I are taking my kids in August and my mom is going to meet us when we change planes. (the kids don't know she is going yet). We wanted my dad to go too but his health isn't great and he would never get out of country travel insurance (we are in Canada). I wish he could go because my kids don't get to see my parents that often since they live in another province. We are in Nova Scotia, my parents are in Ontario. My parents have always wanted to go to Disney and have never been. I guess now dad will never get that chance.

Cherish the memories you have made!

My DD loved TT too. My DW cannot ride too many rides due to back trouble, and the last time we went my DD was only 6 and didn't want to do too many wild rides. But, she relented and tried TT and at first she didn't like it. She tried it a 2nd time and then we rode it every chance we got. She still talks about it whenever the topic of Disney comes up.

This is also a favorite of my family! We love this ride everyone can experience it (that is tall enough)! Our favorite part is posing for the picture in a different way each time!

Test Track was the highlight of our last trip. My 80yo grandfather spent a day at Epcot with us. He just thought he would be able to look around WS and eat, but my kids convinced him to ride TT. He sat up front in between my 4 and 6 yo and laughed and smiled just like a little kid. During the end loop he saw the kids put their arms up so he did too. I have never seen him so happy in my entire life and it was just wonderful for my kids to have that experience with their great-grandfather. :goodvibes

That will be so exciting. My MIL joined us a few days into one of our trips and it was a surprise for our kids as well. She checked in at the resort early that morning and then waited at the bus stop for us. As we were approaching, one of the kids said, "Oh, there's grandma.... Wait a minute. GRANDMA IS AT DISNEY?!" They ran over to her and were just thrilled.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

OMG!! TT is my favorite. On our first trip to WDW in 2008, my grandson was 14 & he does not do coaster type rides. Before every ride he would question the cm's about how the ride functioned & would not ride a lot of them. So he refused to ride TT. Now this being our first trip & not knowing anything about any of the rides, the rest of us rode TT. I kept thinking all thru the line how my grandson would have enjoyed the props & all. Then we got on the ride & all thru all the 'tests', I kept saying "Seth could ride this with no problem". I actually thought when we came up to the barrier doors that it would be some kind of 'brake test' & then the ride would be over......:lmao:....then those doors opened....well you know the rest of the story...:rotfl:....I was laughing hysterically all the time around the track thinking, "Seth would kill me"..:lmao: I still start laughing every time those doors open.

Definitely one of my familes favorites. We do the camera posing too now that everyone knows where it's at. We have some great family pictures and it's awesome TT is one of the few you can put on your photopass card. We also like finding all the hidden Mickey's in the stand-by line. There are lots of them:)

...XXX..allows the whole family to experience such incredible and unique thrills in such a way that your 10 year old daughter will find as much pleasure as will your 70 year old father.

XXX Insert "Disney" here.

Totally agree TT, like so many things at Disney provides thrills for everyone.
