Test Track Update?

Nemo is...ok.

But I honestly don't think it holds a candle to the previous incarnation of the attraction. YAY!! We get some singing fish..... but what ever happened to the education? Or the looking to the Future part of "Future World"?

I think that may be the thing that annoys me the most about FW these days... There is almost a distinct lack of any sort of Education in the park. Compare that to 15yrs ago before they started the year numbering thing, and you could walk out of the park learning a lot about different topics, and often without even realizing it.

the more disney tries to teach it sounds more like preaching to me, makes me mad, they try to make you "green" and other liberal point of view stuff, but yet you see thim blowing more energey in a day than I will use in my life.

I'm happey with thim not teaching. Just try to make every thing "fun" thats why I went to DW in the 1st place, not to be preached to about global warming.

Current Disney.... Maybe. I'll agree that a lot of the newer attractions that attempt to teach can be very Preachy. But the Classic FutureWorld attractions I don't believe can be accused of that. They were "edutainment" before the word even existed.

"newer" teaching attractions I'd include the Timon/Pumba film in The Land... and probably even the current incarnation of Universe of Energy. I'm not going to touch Innoventions because, to be honest, I haven't seriously looked at it since the first post-communicore version. Just from what i've seen it seemed too.....well... marketting/preachy/kiddy... for my tastes.

Think about Spaceship earth. You still get some of that classic Futureworld education in it's current version. Do you feel the ride is preachy? the old World Of Motion was extremely similar in it's presentation, only instead of communication, it's 'lesson' was Transportation. The Classic Journey Into Imagination (Dreamfinder version) was also quite entertaining, and help teach how you observe, gather, and combine ideas and things around you to create new ideas with your imagination. Again... not preachy. Even The Living Seas wasn't very preachy in it's presentation..... and I seriously doubt anybody can accuse Food Rocks! or Kitchen Kabaret as being preachy. (Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit!)

As A kid I used to love those attractions. I thought they were a lot of fun. It isn't until I look back in hindsight that I realize how much I learned from them.

It's true, then -- ignorance really is bliss.

I'm gonna miss the preshow.
"And we may throw some surprise tests."
"Surprise test?"
"Yeah....pick one. Now, if this whole routine seems a bit extreme, you're absolutely right."
