If you do Test Track single-rider lane, do you design a car?

UPDATED: Thought of another question: Will single-rider be open during Early Entry?

They have a little station in the single rider lane, but it is not nearly as interesting as the regular line. I've heard of people going through the exit first and designing their car in the station that is there and then going back to the single rider line. I haven't done it myself, but I'm planning to try it if I end up wanting to do the single rider lane.

Go in through the exit, walk through the gift shop, follow the wall on your left and there are two design kiosks. They are usually busy, but if you wait your turn you can design a car and save it to your magicband. Exit, then go back in through the signle-rider line and swipe your band at the load area.

Technically, whether you design your car at the exit or stop to do it in the queue and allow others to go past you, the same number of people are going to end up in front of you. You just won't see them going past you if you design your car at the exit and then get in the line because they'll have entered the line before you even get there.

Your perception will be different though, since you won't have gotten in the line yet. The time spent designing the car won't seem to "count" in terms of your wait time.

That's what we've done during most visits. Even if you're not doing single rider, you can spend as much time as you want (within reason) on the stations at the exit as they have no timer and perfect your build. Just remember not to tap in at the design station when you get in line for the ride or it will overwrite your 'exit' build.
