I just asked you Sweet...you knew where it was.

And to better go to church more than once today SASSY!!!

And don't forget the prayer for my Dad.....he' so sick..:sad1:

Tony, hope your dad is soon feeling better:hug: I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers

Momma and Mac, behave at church......;)

Ed, you went on an appliance shopping spree! I don't drink coffee at all, but that looks like it will be perfect for a one drinker household...enjoy it...your very own little kitchen toy! Vacumm cleaners are so technical now...and very spiffy, but you still gotta push them around:sad1: ;) :goodvibes J/K, that looks like a great model.

It is still snowing....I DON'T WANT IT...make it go away

over slept off to church
got your backs covered

i love Departed.
went to see it twice the week it came out.

now i need to buy it.
it's my type of movie

morning all!

about to get ready for church...didn't have to teach this morning...next week.

ed--i added ya!

ocm--do you have a new one too...or do you still use the old one also?

tony--hope your dad gets well.

mic-we have snow here but not as much as they were saying...it is blowing here....the wind....the wind is blowing.

mac--have a good one at church...cover us well.

i'll be back later on this afternoon...noah starts his bb tourneys today:cool1:

Snow is STILL falling here....our supposed 1 inch is at about 3.5 inches now...it is beautiful, but that heavy snow that sits on the trees, so it will be a witch to move.........yuck...........I don't mind cold weather, I just don't like snow anymore......

Tony I prayed for your Dad.

Mic I tried to behave..but there was a really cute guy behind me and it was hard to focus. I'm sorry about the snow. I'm really tired of it too.

Mac I haven't seen the departed, glad you liked it

Pam the old one works too. have fun at church. Does everyone in your house go or jsut you?

Keisha must have had a good night..she is the only one that hasn't checked in.

Ed that is a wicked cool coffee maker.

Ed and Mic what do you think of the proposition of 8 hour school days? The only hesitation I would have about it would be the bus system. Some of the kids get on the bus wicked early as it is.

But, if they started school at 7 or 7:30 go until 4 or 4:30 have their after school activites, then come home. I would be all for it. Espeicailly if that would eliminate homework:thumbsup2

Hey everyone. Finally got a little break. I went down to the Jersey Shore yesterday to watch one of my employees do the "Polar Plunge". The water temp was 34 degrees. I was frozen just watching them. They all looked like icepops when they got out of the water.

Only an hour until the NASCAR race. We are awaiting the winter storm this evening. I'm 2nd in command when it comes to closing the company. The last storm was a no-brainer but this one may be a little different. It's all good when you make the right call but if you make the wrong one....

TVT, prayers going up for your dad.

I hope you all have a great rest of the day.

gant--glad you checked in!:thumbsup2 that sounds really cold....i don't think i could jump into freezing water!! sounds like you have a little decision to make.

ed--that is a cool coffee maker! sounds like you had a good day yesterday....it is always a good day when you get out and go shopping:rolleyes:

ocm--the whole fam damily went today....it depends on the week if we all go. If i go to early service it is usually just me and then dave brings the kids to sunday school. If it is late service(which i prefer, but don't always have time for) then usually we all go. The late service is more laid back and more fast paced songs and a younger crowd. The only problem with late service is that it usually runs later and if we have somewhere we have to be then it doesn't work. Our pastor is known for having long sermons too:confused3 he is getting better though...i think he has had quite a bit of complaints though.

tony--how did you golf the other day??

mic--that usually is the prettiest snow but i hear ya...i am starting to hate the snow AND the cold...i just need to move somewhere where it is always warm.

I think I would rather have them go more days than longer days, I think some school systems take a shorter summer break and give them a couple of extra weeks off during the year. Although that wouldn't work up here most of the schools dont have AC some summer would be brutal.

Hi all....and good afternoon to our favorite robot, glad to hear from you....even if you are hanging out with icepops.....:goodvibes brrr...that doesn't sound like a good way to pass time, jumping in freezing water...I'm more a warm water kinda gal...I see my man Kevin Costner started the race for ya Gant.....enjoy watching it

I really have no say about school anymore, as my kids are grown. My grandson goes to year round school. They still have breaks from it, but I guess year round keeps continuity for them in their subjects. This is such a different world we live in, things I didn't learn til later grades, is being taught in earlier grades now. Sometimes, I feel they push kids too much and expect a lot from them and that is why kids seem to have problems, that is just my 2cents though. I think the amount of homework they give younger kids is obscene at times...kids need down time to and not be in brain overload. There are more working parents today also, and longer school days combined with homework and activities could really be stressful for the whole family. I think it's hard enough for working parents to have a little family time in the evenings with their kids. Around here, they actually have started middle & high school classes earlier, saying kids are apt to learn more with early rising, early to class. Kids groaned about it a lot too. The problem is how early some kids have to catch a bus. I remember I started high school at 7:50 and we got out at 2:05. I'm not a scholar, but I made it through and I don't think I was damaged for life with those hours. Let me tell ya, kids should enjoy the school years, regardless of hours etc., cause the real world will be way harder than any school years.

Snow has stopped, dh got sidewalks cleared up, so unless we get that wintry mix, we should be ok tomorrow...it still is a pretty snow, but glad it stopped.

hi test friends........

still snowing here, so what else is new?

we had the ice storm start last night around 10ish and the snow started up again before church got out.

i don't think tomorrow would be the best day for me to call in sick to work.
one day last week there were 45 teachers that called in one day. the sub clerk got a tad testy that day........

so good to see mr robot even w/out the coffee.
right now, i am on my third pot of it. can never have enough coffee which is one reason i don't get enough sleep...

had a nice sermon this morning and a pot luck afterwards.
no church tonight, cancelled due to the ice storm. only about 30 made it to church this morning and less for sunday school.

that's ok. i LOVE watching the oscars so now i can see it from start to finish.

did ocm buy that yellow dress for my occassion yet????

and deena is still MIA

Tonight is Oscar night isn't it....I'd almost forgotten....the show doesn't impress me like it did when I was younger...wouldn't miss it, and thought all the stars were so magnificent...now most of them seem so stuck on themselves and when they start up with the political crap, it turns me off...but I will peek in for sure.

No ice here yet mac, just cold...hope the ice passes us by.

Mac that always makes church worth going. When you have a sermon that touches you in one way or another. My sermon was actaully pretty good too. But I go for the time to myself. I took no one with me today and it was really nice.:thumbsup2

The yellow dress has been hanging in my closet for a few weeks now. The black dress they no longer have in a size 6:mad:

Gant I could never ever jump in the cold water. Good for you to go for moral support.:flower3:

I would go for year round schools over the longer days. I think the summer breaks they lose a lot. Are they considering that option? If the schools don't have AC up there, your right, there is no way they could go to school some of those summer days. Joey (my brother) taught in New Orleans for about 3 years and their schools closed a few days in the winter because it was too cold to go to school.

Mic you are preaching to the choir on the homework thing. I think it is insane that kids come home and have so much to do still. I think family time is really important and I think this society pushes getting ahead over that. So, I think the longer school hours and eliminating homework serves two things. One, two working parents won't have to worry as much about before and aftercare and eliminates the homework at night.

i would still vote for the year round school..I think that is ideal.

Is anyone going to watch that show are you smarter than a 5th grader. I am really not a huge TV watcher and even less so than usual lately..however, I'm wicked excited to watch this show.:thumbsup2

I didn't take my diet pills this morning so I am sure this killer headache is due to lack of caffine.:sad2:

 TVT's mom is sick as well, please keep both of them in your prayers. I know his mom wasn't in the best of health to begin with, so it has hit her hard. Poor thing.

you don't have to ask, i'll put them on my prayer list.

I would watch the Are you Smarter than A 5th Grader, but I don't want to feel embarassed.....:rotfl:

Yes, TVT's parents are both in my thoughts and prayers...I know what he is going through...love ya Tony, take care:hug:

Glad we see eye to eye on the school debate..;)

Off to watch some TV...and fold some laundry...

I'll drop by to say goodnight

Goodnight friends...and my goodnight song pertaining to me is......

Brown Eyed Girl

:wave2:

good morning...........

departed was a winner !!
wish mark w. would have walked away with the oscar also.

i sat up watching E afterwards for 2 hours......boy, am i tired.

hope everyone survives monday.........make it a good one

Thanks for the prayers everybody. My Dad is starting to feel some better but it is just starting with my Mom. It's a flu that is going around. I have never heard my Dad sound that sick. The one bright spot in this is that both of my brothers have stepped up and been there to help out. They have been very helpful and for that I am thankful. Mom and Dad have doctor appointments today so I will know more after that.

I did play golf Saturday for the first time in almost 2 months. Shot a smooth 75 which I was really proud of considering I hadn't touched a club in so long. My old body is paying for it now. Just a little on the sore and stiff side. Guess I should play more and that wouldn't happen huh?? :lmao:

Now.......WAKE UP IT'S MONDAY!!
