Jan 19th Part 2
We went to ride Buzz Lightyear. While we were splitting up who was riding with who, Tony asked Nico, “Are you riding with me or your mom?”
“I want to ride with Julie by ourselves.” Nico whined.
“No, you can’t ride by yourselves you need an adult with you” Tony was telling him
“Yes I can .” Nico said very rudely. “Mom can Julie and I ride by ourselves?”
“Yes, as long as Dad sits in front of you and I sit right behind you.” I answered. Looking back, I should not have undermined what Tony had just told him, especially with how extremely rude Nico spoke to him. Sorry TVT. In all honesty, I wasn’t really thinking clearly. I am the worst person for making decisions and trying to decide whether to call my mom was a big decision for me.
We walked out of Buzz and saw that they were going to let people in for a preview of the new comedy act for Mike Wizosky. We had to wait about 15 minutes. I went to change Samantha, and talked some more about what to do about Saturday night.
“You know where I have really wanted to eat at? Portobello’s at Downtown Disney.” I was telling Lee.
“Can your mom pay for that meal? I mean, we should really do something that she will pay for” Lee said.
“Oh I have no idea, but even if she can’t it would be cheaper than $200.” I said casually, trying not to cringe at what he was hinting at.
I used Lee’s phone and called. The menu didn’t sound appealing to me as she was reading it off, but she did say that they would try to accommodate me as best they could. She was actually very sweet.
“Don’t forget to ask if your mom can pay for it.” Lee was whispering. I asked, and she said that they do that often. People often want to treat others for their birthdays or anniversaries. It really sounded nice, but I just wasn’t sure.
“I need to look at the actual menu,” I was telling the guys when I got off, “but that is a possibility.”
“But your mom can pay for it, right?” Lee asked, “You better call your mom and tell her all of this.”
PLEASE! Stop asking me that!! I was shouting at him in my head. I was really getting frustrated with him. It wasn’t entirely fair, Lee has always been like that so I should really be used to it by now. I shouldn’t have been as agitated with him as I was. As crazy as it was, I felt really protective of my mom right then too. I know she offered to pay , so I really shouldn’t have felt the way I did. I can’t explain why,

but I really felt like he was taking advantage of her.
“What about Gulliver’s?” Tony asked.
"Yeah, i will defiantely check out the menu there. I think the last time Lee and I and the kids were there, we all ate something." I said thinking back.
“Can your mom prepay Shula’s?” Lee said laughing.
“Yeah right”

I sighed as I rolled my eyes ignoring him. “I really need to look at a menu before I commit to anything.” I was telling them
“If you really don’t want to eat at the Castle, then I would just go ahead and cancel it to make sure your mom gets her refund. But you need to work that out with your mom. I’m staying out of it.” Lee said.
The comedy show opened and we went inside. Nico was thrilled to be seeing it. The hallway that you walk through before you get to the theater is really well detailed. All of the pictures have really funny sayings on them. We sat in one of the front rows and the show began. Some of it was good, but a lot of it needed work. However, Nico laughed his butt off in it. He really loved that show.
When we got out, each of us got a front of the line pass to any ride in the park, whether it has a fast pass line or not. This ended up being an amazing gift. We just didn’t realize it then how much we would need it.
We got out , took the kids to the bathroom and Lee went to get snacks. I sent Tony ahead with Nico to get a good spot in front of the Castle to watch Mickey‘s Dreams Come True show, while I waited for Lee. While I was sitting there, my phone rang. It was my mom.
I had a long talk with her about all the dinning concerns. I said, “I am sure you put a lot of time and effort into doing all of this and I am extremely grateful, but I don’t really want you to spend $40 for a hot dog and all that money in general on a meal. “
“Yes, I did put a lot of time into it. I was back and forth on the phone with Lee and Disney trying to book it.” She was saying. “What about the cake? If you cancel, don’t forget to call and cancel the cake too.”
“What cake?” I asked.
“We ordered a cake for you personalized and they were going to bring it to the castle that night. I told Lee to go ahead and order it and I would just pay him back. I don’t think it’s been paid for yet, but you need to cancel that., too.” She explained.
“Wow mom, that really was very nice of you.” I really was grateful.
“I can never get you.” My mom was saying, a little frustrated with me, “I tried to throw you a surprise birthday party while you were here, but you left too soon. Then, there was the whole thing with you not showing up at your surprise baby shower, now you find out about the castle. Not to mention that I really wanted to take you to
Disneyland for your birthday, but you scheduled your trip to Disney World.”
“Yeah, I guess I am not a good person to try to throw a Surprise anything for, huh?”

I said laughing as I remember calling her the day of my surprise baby shower, and leaving her a message telling her I wasn’t up to driving an hour away. She had to call me back and tell me that it was my surprise baby shower, everyone was going to be there, and I had to get my butt out of that house and drive the hour. My poor mom.
“Alright, well, I want you to do whatever you want. There was another thing, the Spirit of Aloha or something, that I could have prepaid, but none of the other restaurants would let me do that. Those were the only two in Disney that I could do.” She sounded exasperated and I really felt bad. “But it’s your birthday and I want you to do whatever you want.” She added.
“Mom, thank you. I know how hard it is to book the castle for any meal and I am sure that was the only time you could get. I really think the kids would be so grouchy if we tried to hold out feeding them dinner at 8. I just need to think about it some more.” I said as heartfelt as I could. I hate hurting people’s feelings especially my mom’s.
TVT had tried calling me twice while I was on the phone with my mom. I didn’t mean to be that long, but we are all motor mouths. I started walking that way, while I was still on the phone.
“Well, I hope you have a Happy Birthday,” my mom was saying, “ can I talk to the kids?”
“I’m really sorry mom, but we are just about to watch a show that is really loud and the kids won’t really be able to hear you.” I was trying to explain as I felt more guilt about the dinner and on top of that she couldn’t even talk to her grandkids. Sorry mom
“Where have you been?” Tvt asked as I walked up
“I’m really sorry. I was talking to my mom.” I think that was all the explanation he needed since he nodded and finished watching the show.
When the show ended, we realized that we had to hurry to get to Epcot. We had Dinner reservations at Alfredo’s (my favorite Disney restaurant) at 6pm and we were cutting it close. We got on the Monorail and I decided to go ahead and cancel the Castle. I just couldn’t justify all the money being spent on top of the fact that my kids just can’t hold out for dinner that long.
We got to Epcot and Nico was very whiny. His legs were hurting and he was tired. I also have a feeling he was hungry, but I didn’t say that.
“We could take a boat over to Italy instead of walking through all the different countries,” I suggested.
“You guys can do whatever you want. I’m going to walk ahead to get the reservation.” Lee said. He went on ahead and we walked with the kids.
We finally were seated , trying to figure out what we were going to order.
“I’m really not hungry,” Tony was saying, “So, I don’t think I am going to eat anything.”
I looked at the menu and saw that they had an Appetizer order of Fettuccine. I suggested letting me get that and Lee could get an entrée. Lee said the most appealing thing on the menu to him was the Calamari, so he wanted to order that for an appetizer. That was fine, I ended up ordering the Trio combo or whatever, you can get three different pastas. I subbed out one of the pastas for Fettuccine and we got the kids their food and Lee got a bowl of spaghetti.
When our food arrived everything looked delicious. Now, I had just eaten earlier that day, so I really wasn’t starving. However, this is one of my favorite foods and I had been really looking forward to eating here, especially since I found out Wolfgang puck stopped serving their Fondue.
I was sitting on the end, with Samantha and Julie on my side. Nico was sitting next to Tony with Lee on the other side of him. Tony and I started cutting the kids food. I cut Samantha’s first, then I started cutting Julie’s when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I looked to see Lee had taken a bite of one of my cream sauce pastas, decided he didn’t like it and proceeded to put the rest of the bite back on my plate.
I was mad.

I know it’s just food and it’s dumb to get mad about something like this, but I was really mad. It wasn’t like I didn’t want my food, I hadn’t gotten to it yet because I was cutting the girls food.
Please, let me take a bite off my plate before you dig into it. Eat your food that is right in front of you before you start eating mine. I was shouting in my head as I watched him take a bite of the lasagna off my plate. In all fairness, this might not have gotten me mad if he hadn’t rubbed me the wrong way earlier. I rarely get that annoyed with one person through out an entire day.
I finished cutting Julie’s food and I went to eat my food. I felt bad for Tony. I know he said he wasn’t hungry, but I hated him just sitting there not eating anything while we all ate.
“Here I know you aren’t a huge fan, but I really don’t want the Lasagna , so if you want it, please feel free to eat it.” I pleaded with him.
BAM! Lee’s fork dove right into the lasagna for the second time. I shot Lee a look. I was fuming.

Honest, I don’t have any idea if it was me or him, but I never get like this. I had to stand up to him in some way. I simply took the lasagna off my plate and put it onto a plate for Tony. TVT didn’t eat very much of it, but at least he ate a little and I felt a lot better for taking a stand.
I love the food here. It was so delicious and the pastas were excellent.

Even the kids ate all their food. The atmosphere is wonderful too. It really is my favorite restaurant, not to mention, some of the waiters are wicked hot.
After dessert, a guy came around who was playing the accordion. He was excellent and our whole side of our restaurant was laughing and clapping to the beat of the music. It was so lively and fun. I talked to a bunch of the other tables about their adventures and we all had a really great time.
Once out of Italy, Tony walked to go get his car and I helped Lee get the kids to bed. We had 3 counter service meals that we had to use or we would lose them and we had 12 snacks to use. Tony was going to drive me to Downtown Disney to grab Sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich and then over to Wolfgang Puck Express to get cookies and Brownies. When we got to Earl of Sandwich the place looked packed.
“Oh my god, this is crowded. “ Tony said. “I hope the line moves fast before I lose you.”
“Lose me?”

I asked confused.
“Yeah you know, before you start falling asleep.”

He laughed as I hit him.
“It’s not my fault I fall asleep early. I am up all day long and moving, I don’t take middle of the day naps like you old people do.” I sassed back.
The line, thank goodness, didn’t take long and we were on our way to Wolfgang Puck. There were only 3 people in front of us there, but the line was not moving. Finally, we figured out why. Their credit card machine wasn’t working, so anyone using any type of credit card or anyone on the dinning plan couldn’t order. We lucked out as we were the last people they took before they made that announcement. I signed a slip that said I agreed to use the snack credits and I left.
“Ok, now we are going to Port Orleans French Quarters, I need to get the Beignets for the kids for breakfast tomorrow.” I said.
“I am not going to French Quarters their food court is closed. “ He said
“It is NOT closed,”

I said rolling my eyes at him.
“They close at 9pm.” He said.
“They do not close at 9pm. Most of the parks aren’t even closed at 9pm. That’s ridiculous.” I said laughing at him.

Really, I was laughing at him at this point, not with him or around him, he was being ridiculous.
“I’m telling you they close at 9pm.” He stated as though that was the final answer.
“Give me your phone and let me call them.” I said putting my hand out for him to hand me the phone. He handed it to me and I called. “Midnight” I said to him as I got off.
“Well, how would I know that, I never stay onsite.” He said. I just looked at him and laughed.
“Ok, fine we can go, but, if you fall asleep I am taking you right back to the hotel. “ He said.
“Fine, I won’t fall asleep,” I promised.
We got to Port Orleans and got the beignets and Tony dropped me off at the hotel. I have to say, had it been 10-15 minutes later, I think I would have fallen asleep. Tony took the Sandwiches for me to keep the refrigerated and I took the rest up to my room. I got there, got changed took a hot shower and went to bed. I decided everyone was just going
