morning...

moving sloooow, capped off the shopping excursion w/a stop @ Super Panda Chinese Buffet (@ youngest Ds's request), think I ate some "bad" fried squid; still shakey this a.m...I've crossed buffets off my list (expect for WDW:banana: ).

did get the bride & groom build-a-bears made, my boy looked cute spinning around 3 times, etc. while he stuffed them...hard to get a teenage to go with the flow, glad the store wasn't too crowded or he would have bolted.

getting older, refused to enter Victoria's Secret w/me LOL.

off to take mom on her promised shopping excursion today, wish I could crawl back in bed.

still say tvt sounds like a drill instructor.

mac - unless AT changes flight time again, we get into MCO around 12:45 p.m. Not sure when we'll reach WDW, have a car reserved but, leaning toward ME to save some bucks, since we didn't plan on leaving the world this trip. I'm told ME can take nearly 2 hours to deposit you @ resort...that would suck. Anyone have experience w/it yet? Cannot believe we're just missing each other.

ocm & her youngins got the wiggles.:goodvibes happy to say I never had to sit thru that show, still recovering from Barney.

pam - still waiting for computer normalcy, that stinks too.

mic's working hard for the money.

gigantor - delegation is a beautiful thing...carry pair of extra shin guards, someone always forgets them & they check them before games.:thumbsup2 At that level do they hand out cards for penalities or is it a "learning league".

deena - hope you're hanging in there...did DS call home yet (for money LOL)?

ed - nice pic yesterday, do enjoy them

Hope y'all have a good one.

Well, it's official -- Cameron's now a Kindergardener :guilty: :guilty: He looked too big this morning hopping up on the bus with his friends. Heck, he didn't even wave to us as they pulled away (too busy yakking with his friends  :teeth: )

We took some pics -- I'll just to upload them in the next day or so.

Yep, we both walked him down to the bus stop this morning. It's just at the end of our cul de sac, so it ended up being a bit of a neighborhood get-together, especially since the public middle school's bus stop is the same place.

A tear or two was shed, I have to admit. :guilty:

((HUGS)) Bob. I'm sure it wasn't easy. The girls and I walk Nico to the bus stop everyday too. There are about 4 different stops the bus makes in our neighborhood though and Nico is the only one at his stop. But he always talks about his friends that are on the bus that live on the other side of the neighborhood.

I wish more people were at our stop. I would get to meet other parents. BUT NOOOO..my bus stop had to be right at the neighbors house. The one I flashed on several occasions.

Yep, usually the parents not the kids.:grouphug:

I still "well-up" when I come across those pics in photo album.

bob........your baby takes a bus??
sweets.......your baby also takes a bus???

i couldn't do that.
i would drive them so i would know they got there safely.

i used to walk mine to school when it was good weather and walk back to get them when school was out.
my kids didn't know any other way to get to and from school......lol

i had no peace of mind unless i saw them walk into the school. i even stayed outside on the sidewalk until they walked into school.

we would get there 12 minutes before line up time and then the kids were in line for about 4 minutes before the teacher took them in to the building.

i am the neurotic mom people talk about on the cb threads......... :rolleyes1

keisha, i took ME one time.

and never ever again.

i arrived at the area to sign in for the ME and it took from 11:15 until 1:20 to get to all stars, which btw, was the first stop for the guests on that bus i took.

then, the line at the check in counter at the resort took me 45 minutes since a herd of people got off the same time i did and they walked much faster than i did to get in line.

i only did it last year to get the free pin coupon. when you use the ME system, the packet you are mailed includes a free coupon for a disney pin.
i love pins so i did the ME route.

this year i booked the ME for next months trip. i will not be using it, just wanted to get the free trading pin coupon. my packet came last week and the coupon was in the packet.

gee, the measures i go through to get that pin!!!

i am using sunray townservice which includes a free 30 minute grocery stop.
for a 3 leg trip of town service.....mco to all stars......all stars to universal hotel........UO hotel to mco.......is $112. total and i get dropped off at the hotel, my bags are picked up by the driver, etc........

if you want to save money, then do the ME.
if you don't mind paying $80 for a round trip mco to resort and reverse, go with sun ray. i can give you the discount code. pm me for it.

if you take the ME back to mco, you are assigned to be picked up 3 hours prior to your departure. the bus makes other hotel stops besides yours.

NOOOOOOOOOOO

you signed up for life with us tony..........
mr thong -master king........i read your siggie.....
:rolleyes1

Oh Bob, isn't it something when the kids are so aborbed they don't have time to miss us? :guilty: But better he gets on the bus with a smile than crying and saying he won't get on it :thumbsup2 Officially the next 12 years will fly by........take my word on that one! One school year soon becomes the next until all of a sudden they are graduating.

My kids rode the bus also, that is part of the socialization of going to school, or so I think.......of course we live in a small town and at the time, everyone knew everyone else and their kids, so I never worried...helps we only live probably not even a 1/4 mile for either of the 3 schools they attended. At one time of day, kids on our street used to be walkers...but traffic got too bad for crossing the one street and they did away with having a crossing guard, so they are bus riders now. Good grief, how old does that make me talking about crossing guards...... :teeth: :rotfl: That reminds me of hall monitors in Jr. High also....... :rotfl: my how times have changed

Yes, I let Nico take the bus. I don't like the idea of busses at all, but for now, he really seems to like taking the bus. He talks about his bus friends and his school friends. The bus friends are older, but they are all in this neighborhood. So, I don't have a problem with him getting to know the other kids in the neighborhood.

Tony looks like we all want to keep you around here. No getting out of your shout outs.

Yep, it's only about a mile to school and we could drive him (and probably will on the days he doesn't wake up early enough), but he'd be devastated if he didn't take the bus -- to him, that's a large part of the excitement of going to "big boy" school.

yeah yeah...use me and abuse me...I know how you gals are.... :smooth:

mic, in our school district we still have paid crossing guards and hall moniters.

also, a student has to live 1 mile and 4 blocks from their school before they qualify for the bus service. its free but if you wanted your kid to take the bus, its not allowed. can't even buy your way into it.

not going to be on the puter much more for the next hour.
i have to clean up this dump.

son is moving back to where he just came from.
very bad timing.
he wants to go the day before i leave on my trip.
i am trying very hard to have him stay until i come back from my trip.

i hope i don't have to cancel it.
i'm crossing my fingers it's stil a go for me.

Oh good glad you got the message. We'll let you know if we ever we are done with you. We've been known to do that before.

I drive my youngest DS to school in the a.m. (1 long block).

Never let him take the bus to elementary school...a 5/10 min. drive would have turned into a 45 bus trip, with a high school pick up before he'd have been dropped off. Who dreams up these schedules...kidnergarten kiddies & hi school seniors on the same bus...ridiculous.

hey guys! using the old computer that is now in trent's room. :thumbsup2

i have a little bit to say now that i am unstuck!!

HOW 'BOUT THOSE YANKEES!?!?!?

 :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

as for riding the bus...my kids love riding the bus...i now take trent to school in the morning and then drop noah off a couple blocks from our house at another school and then he catches the bus and goes to his school. I hated letting trent ride his bike...that isn't going to work with me..he has to cross two major streets...i was worried about him that time he rode his bike.

i need to head out and start packing...we are leaving my house between 7:30 and 8am tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing good and have a great weekend! I will check in when we return on Sunday!

..yeah, HOW BOUT THEM YANKEES, they LOST last night........... :rotfl:
When Pam talks about those Yankees, all I hear is white noise and I just tune it out.....

have a great time on the trip, get packing girl, tomorrow morning will be here soon enough, with Tony hooping and hollaring like he does....you won't miss the bus to Branson with him around

poor TVT, feels abused......... :rotfl2:

"BIG BOY" school, love that one Bob, how cute. Momma, I can just picture Nico on the bus just chatting away with the other kids.

Mac, hope things with ds get on the right track and it doesn't hamper your trip.......... :grouphug: I'm sure it will all work out and you will be sleeping with Mickey :teeth: real soon
