Hello.......

Mac, had your coffee yet? Are you functioning?

Meeting went ok I guess. They do not want to replace/hire anyone just yet for the missing co-worker. She "might" come back  I doubt that seriously, she is going to a facility as an inpatient. Who knows how long to straighten out her body and spirit. I will be picking up another of her duties, and the other gal and I are making it work. I'm sitting back for now, until I know for sure she is or isn't returning, then I will make myself known that I need a little "extra" for doing 2 jobs. I did find out the boss/owner does NOT want me off phone duty, he likes what I do, how I handle people and keep the customers happy  So, I'll be staying in my beautiful lobby with windows and sun.

:dance3:

mic, you are a smart women,
you know just how to talk to the guys here.

yes, now on my second pot of coffee. 20 cups.........
:teeth:

the gal that is in the in patient facility must be very ill.
i think if i remember correctly she has been off work 2 months and just now doing the in patient thing.

people that need extensive treatment could be off work for 6 months easily.
admittance to a facility could be for a number of reasons.
suicidal, bi polar treatment resistance, drug / alchohol addiction/ non functioning depression, trial and error runs on different meds are usually the main reasons for institutionalizing. if a person stays briefly, 2-3 weeks, then they continue out patient counselling 3 xs a week at the center once they are released. its probably best your co worker stays as long as necessary so she can be functioning and relearn social skills and be able to handle depression once she is out and back home and work. it lessens the chances of relapses.
i understand completely what she is going through
i worked in one as a counselor for sometime until i moved north.
and i have known people that went this route.
some that have a complete breakdown and have gone the above route, do better in a different surrounding, sometimes out of the country.
hopefully the gal will improve and have a better life soon.
i know you are sick of doing her job without the pay and that is not fair or right. your bosses should pay you more.
if the gal thinks she has a job to come back to , it might be an incentive and give her hope with a goal. also, it is against the law to fire a disabled person. they don't have to give her the original job back but have to offer her a job if she returns. she can always decline it. maybe she is hanging on t the job for the medical benefits. those places are very costly. i know one that costs $300 per day and insurance does not cover everything on that.

so glad its not my problem but i know it is a big stressor for you. they need to hire a temp to do some of the extra jobs .

better yet, the boss should slip you $100 bills occassionally. he can go to pams money tree for it.

love the rise of ed.........gorgeous. he does know the sunrises and sets so well.
