KS -cleaning is NOOO fun..YUCK!! Yes, the Hilton has the EMH I'm just excited that I got a room there for under 100 with taxes and everything.

i have been doing yard work and still not finished.

the weedwhacker 's motor burned up and the extension cord got fried this morning. it ticked mr mac off so much he went out kayaking and still gone.

he doesn't need much of an excuse to spend the day on the lake.

hope all are doing fine. i am doing much better today.

We made out fine last night Mac, little Miss finally conked out around 11, everyone else was falling asleep, so I said, lights out. She was gone in like 5 minutes. The dog never gave an inch of his spot either

Deena, I think the pictures are awesome and what smiling, happy faces!! Oh my, those colors of the gown are very similar to our high school, except our's is called garnet and the trim is gold. Garnet and gold for us. But your son's cap, gown looks identicle to my boys. Oh so glad it went well. You honestly look SOOOOOO happy and proud. That is just wonderful. Nice that it went well..and off to the world tomorrow!! Congrats again to all!

Pam, how'd the games go?

We have been for a walk, visited my in-laws, picked up BIL and brought him home, done a few things and now we are getting ready to take the sweetie home. I need to run to Wal-Mart. Went to bake a cake for tomorrow and absolutely, positively cannot find my cake tins. I'm trying to think if I threw them away the last time I used them as they were getting kind of cruddy, and just forgot I needed to replace them........................duh...................so no cake baked yet.

Hope Ed is enjoying his holiday in Boston. Game isn't til 7 so guess they are having an afternoon 'versary celebration do you suppose it is windy in Boston this afternoon

stranger things have happened.

i think everyone should have at least 3 boys in the family.

deena's sons are so very handsome. you can see how proud she is of michael in the pic. she never shares her pics to post here so you have to know she was thrilled with michaels new step in life to show the pic.

our high school colors were maroon and white. my kids hs colors maroon also.
looks like houston picked great colors for their hs also.

i planted 4 large beefsteak tomatoe plants today. used miracle grow potting soil. these babies better produce !!

our weather is not the best in the midwest. i always say we have two seasons here, winter and the 4th of july.

last year was the first year i did not plant tomatoes. it was too much with having an ill son. i was lucky if i could sleep at night. anyhoot, we usually get blossoms on the tomatoe vines around late july/ early august. the first tomatoe we can pick usually happens around sept 10-5. then the first frost hits late sept..........

last year we only received 10 90 degree days. our furnace ran in june even for 3 different days........

i received my first contact with my son that is out of the country.
he called last night around 11ish. he sounded different. he said he thinks he is feeling better but has missed some meds in the morning but he will work on that. he could only talk 4 minutes as it cost him/us $30 for it.

he will try to find a computer and someone that has internet so he can send an email to me.
that made my night getting his call. i don't think he is close to getting better but it is a start. he has been gone since may 14.


i am going to cook real food on monday. why not. not many here to eat but i enjoy cooking. going to do ribs, chicken and steak on the grill. making potatoe salad and deviled eggs tomorrow. it brings back memories when the boy was here. this will be fun.


of course we won't eat all of it.

OK..I am M A D!!!!! I went to get my hair highlighted, and its BROWN!!! He tried to fix it and it isnt as dark, but its still brown.

Can you tell I am NOT happy!!!

I doubt I'll get a pic at Epcot to you Mac and I'm really sorry, but I look AWEFUL!!!! I didn't have any more time to sit there for another hour while he tried to fix it again.

This isnt the first time this has happened, and I FINALLY found ourt why. The girl that does my hair works on Tuesdays and Thursdays that is it.

She refuses to write down her customers formals for highlights, becuase she says they are her customers. The problem is, not only is it the policy of the salon to write it down, but I can't get there on Tuesdays and Thursday.

I oculd see if she worked 5 days a week, but she only works TWO days. Im so mad..and NO..don't you dare call me Brownie.

mac - glad you heard from DS . Good luck on the tomato plants. I used to add egg shells to the soil, DH has since taken over all gardening (works for me) and I'm still using the ones I froze from last harvest - quit canning years ago.

muffycat - have fun w/the laptop hunt, look for rebates! I always say I'll put them toward whatever CC I use but, stash them away in my vacation fund.

sweetlovin's getting touched up (I had mine last done 7 months ago - highlights & lowlights & my roots are almost an inch long - eek.) Always try to get close to 3 months out of that major expenditure but, must have had a growth spurt this time. Gave up cleaning & spent a few hours floating in the pool, brrr water temp only 70 degrees.

4greatboys - Our school colors are orange & black, was glad they let us wear white instead. My oldest DS is a head HS football coach, middle was captain & center of championship team, youngest wants to play Jr. Hi but hasn't been cleared since his youth fb foot injury. My middle son, who will graduate from police academy on June 9th, was in a bands as the lead singer. They played a few paid gigs in Pittsburgh @ Roxy theater but, the drummer announced he was gay & decided to joing a punk band. My son just has fun doing karaoke now.

Ordered out for dinner- again . Cooking hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, potato salad & corn on cob for bd party tomorrow - think that's enough? I usually make something Italian but, always have too many leftovers. They'll have cake & ice cream too, should be ok.

sweets......if i were you i would talk to the owner of the salon and insist of no charge for the screw up today and a few color job next time you go there.

i wouldn't take anything less.

i have had bad cuts before and refused to pay for them.
also had a bad foil job last year and insisted on half off.

i got my way.

my foil treatments with conditioner and tip is $145 .
i need to go back soon but wanted to wait until sept for my next foil.
i have 3 colors done on my hair so it looks natural and not real blonde.

your hair only grew one inch in that time period. wow.

i had mine last done in mid februray and it's grown out 2.5 inches.
sometimes it grows fast and sometimes it doesn't.

Mac - I should have done that. My highlights usually cost 100 for full head and 55 for partial. But, I you are right, he put this "toner" thing that turned my whole head brown.

I really should have refused. I am really mad. Lee and Nico both comment on how dark it was. Maybe I will write a letter to the owner.

since it was the toner that made you brown, you can lighten it up some shades now at home.

this happened to me once a few years back.
i didn't have time to stay at the salon for them to work on my hair.
the owner told me to buy prell shampoo and was my hair 2 or 3 times with it.
she said Prell shampoo and any other shampoo that is very green/emerald green has a lot of detergent in it and will strip the toner out.

try that and see if it helps

sweets, it has to be the bright green Prell for it to strip out the toner.
if you can't find green prell, then buy one of the cheaper brands that is bright green.

i was told that green shampoos have a lot of detergent and it strips away color jobs.

you will need to condition your hair a few times once you use prell.

you should tell the owner you are entitled to a couple of free deep conditioning treatments for what you have to go thru in order to get the brown out of your hair. those treatments are over $20 each.

i have to leave in about 5 to pick them up.

mr mac doens't like delivery.
he says they aren't as hot then.

he says all the men and women at work use a cleaning service, similar to merry maids.
he says they snicker at him when he says we don't have any service.

so he tells me i need to check this out and use them for the heavy cleaning.
i guess i didn't pass inspection last week , eh......

he wants them for cleaning the tile/tub'/bathroom and scrubbing the kitchen floor.

is he nuts?
he can pay me and i'll do it.

Have an awesome time and drive safe momma. Oh MY, I too would have been furious over the brown hair deal. What is up with that? Heck, even if the other girl didn't right down the combination, they ought to know how to make a gal blonde I concur with mac, tell them when you get back how unhappy you are/were. Heck, tell them it ruined your trip to WDW and you want them to throw in a night's lodging Seriously, I would be be peeved and make myself known in that salon. Make them give you a comp highlighting or make the color right at no charge. What a bunch of nincompoops.

Mac, glad you heard from your son. Hope it all gets smoothed out and he gets better while away. Hope for the best, expect the worst and things will work out just right

Ed, you lucky duck, at Fenway as I type. Sounds like you had a good hotel view. Right now they are winning and you might see Shill get his 200th win, that is a milestone you can share with the grandkids one day. Let's hope Papelbon finishes her up in good measure. I got my cake pans at Wal-Mart, so in the morning I'll be baking a cake. Got my other jello/cool whip dessert made up, so I won't have a bunch to get done tomorrow. It got pretty warm here today. We sat around the pool at our friend's house. DH actually got in, I just put my tootsies in. It was very warm sitting in the sun, but felt good. The kids will really enjoy having their new pool. We are invited whenever we feel like it
