Ahhhh -- I love my co-workers (well, most of the time ).

My boss and co-worker went and got a big birthday cake for me and another co-worker who's birthday is the day before mine.

Well, since you will be in the hospital on your birthday you will get pampered!!! You get to stay in bed and relax, you get women (maybe a few men, but i won't spoil it for you) to take care of you and all your wants, and you get the remote all to yourself!

I do hope you have a Happy Birthday!

eat all the sugar you can now because i bet you can't eat anything later on?! That is one of the worst things about surgery...when i had the kids i couldn't eat or drink anything for like 12 hours before the surgery...eating wasn't so bad..it was the drinking that got me! Then afterwards all i got was broth...yuck!!! Hope you get more than broth!!!

I will be thinkin' of ya!!!!! Hope all goes well!

Yep, Pam, nothing from midnight tonight on. I just hope I'm scheduled for a fairly early surgery time tomorrow.

Funny, my family is all planning on coming up to visit on Saturday, but none of them are coming to help Nicole out. So my whole family will be sitting in my hospital room bugging the crap out of me when what they could be doing is actually doing some good -- taking Cam to his soccer game, watching Ryan, helping around the house. You know, something more useful than staring at the hospital walls with me.

Funny, my family is all planning on coming up to visit on Saturday, but none of them are coming to help Nicole out. So my whole family will be sitting in my hospital room bugging the crap out of me when what they could be doing is actually doing some good -- taking Cam to his soccer game, watching Ryan, helping around the house. You know, something more useful than staring at the hospital walls with me.

Poor Nicole. That is frustrating. And I have to say, you are a sweet guy for thinking about your wife while you are in surgery. She's lucky to have you.

You know my family is exactly the opposite. My mom would come visit me in the hospital, but she would absolutey be at the soccer game and taking the girls with her. Infact, she would rather Lee just go somewhere and let her take over the house.

Yes, that is frustrating! Maybe if they ask you if you need something or if they as if they could help you can relay the message. Maybe they aren't thinking of that at the moment....besides i bet Cameron would love to have family watch him at his soccer game!

OR maybe your favorite MIL could always help you out!!! I bet you would love it if she sat with you and have everyone else go and help Nicole!!!

hey bob, your post reminds me of a story:

When I was having trent, i ended up having an emergency c-section. Well, they ended up putting me completely out so when i came to my room after recovery my whole family was there......my mom and dad, grandma, my 2 brothers and wife(only one of them were married at the time) my 2 sisters and their husbands. On top of that, dave's mom and dad was there along with one of his sisters and one of my best friends! Then ofcourse 2 or my aunt and uncles came.
I was soooo out of it that i didn't know everyone was there until dave told me the next day that they were all there...it was just crazy. Then, none of them came to visit me again (i had him on a monday) until i came home from the hospital and the evening i came home they ALL came to my house again!!! Gosh forbid they spread it out and come at different times!

Oh Bob, hope I haven't missed you....best of luck with the surgery...I'm thinking nothing but positive thoughts for all to go well and a speedy recovery....also Happy Birthday..like momma said, we will celebrate when you get back.....nice that work thought about your b'day.......and your family needs to get with the program and help Nicole out with the kids... and by the way, love the new photo...too cute...again good luck, check in and don't you be pinching any nurses!! (ok, a quickie pinch is ok... )
