Good morning again...

Seems every one is at their desk and ready for the day to begin...no choice it seems ;) For our sahm's, enjoy the sunshine! It is pretty nice here this a.m.....one minute they say rain, and the next they say no...so I'll use my best weatherman...me looking out the window :teeth:

Yep, a year is a long way off....we can think on the whole NYC thing and go from there...I love NY and think it would be fun...heck, I could be dead in a year....ya never know.... ;)

Photo essay??? Who said that??? I'm telling ya, it was raining and I never take a great picture anyway, let alone looking like a drowned rat... :goodvibes I've not downloaded my pics, I think I have one of Pam, and she wasn't looking ;)

Ed, I saw in the paper where Normar hit a grand slam last night...hmmm...comes off the disabled and hits one...guess the Dodger fans are happy with the acquisition.

Got some work to do, so I'll be back later..............have fun

Oh Bob, I hear ya, it does trickle down cause it rolls downhill for the most part... :p

Morning all!

Nope I don't think anything was said about March either...just Spring, but I could be mistaken also. With all the negitive talk about it though I have decided that I will not say another word as it seems to me that some does not want to do a meet outside of Disney. Which is fine, but I for one think the group who goes gets to spend more time together as they are not rushed to do things as one could be at WDW. Just my opininon, and I won't say another word!

Bob--that really stinks that they are taking it out on everyone! If all else fails just say that you are not feeling well and take another day off  9 days left.....can i be a stow away again?! :teeth:

Ed--let me see if I can find some pictures and maybe I will post a couple....it was really wet and rainy so I for one look awful!!!! All the others still look good though! Great pic of the morning rise by the way!

Hope you all have a good day today...it is a busy one here as the rest of the week is for me :guilty:

Morning:)

big dude - no offense meant, we've got blighted, industrial eyesores around Pittsburgh that'd curl your toes.

None taken Kiesha. I have been to some of those ex steel towns like Sharon and Farell PA. Heck, I'm just a hop skip and a jump away from the old Bethlehem Steel site that Billy Joel wrote a song about. I'll be the 1st to tell you that the North Jersey turnpike corridore is what it is. Smelly, stinky swampland with refineries, landfills and industry.

Bob, I share your enthusiasm about your trip. I know you'll have a grand time. As far as that saying goes about things flowing downhill.....I remind my boss...in a nice way of course...that if enough of that stuff flows downhill, it's bound to get backed up and flow all the way back up to the top!

I've flown into Tampa once and driven to Fort Myers -- it's about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive. Naples is another hour or so north. MCO would add another couple hours, so I wouldn't consider that as an option, IMO. Are you looking into Fort Myers airport (RSW) or flying directly into Naples. RSW shouldn't be too bad (although we're trying to find flights for the 4th of July weekend and not finding anything reasonable), but flying into Naples is expensive, because it's a tiny airport.

Middle DS wants me to buy him a tix down to Naples to see his buddy this summer. Must be a ritzy area, airfare is thru the roof there. Thinking of routing him thru Tampa or MCO. Any idea how far away they are, driving wise?

My Mom lives in Naples...it is about 4 hrs. or less, depending on route and traffic from either Tampa or MCO..Tampa would be a tad closer. It is ritzy (my Mom does not live in the ritzy though, she is far from rich). RSW airport in Ft. Myers is the best to fly to and drive the 40 minutes to Naples. Naples airport is quite small and costly to fly into.

I just found the connection.....just color me blonde! :teeth:

Like I said, go ahead and plan the trip. I dont think I ever said anything negative about NYC and I certainly dont rememebr saying I would only go to Disney.

Plan your trip, let us know when you all are going, if the rest of us can make it, cool, if not no biggie.

No, what some of us said was DL would be fun. No one said they would only go to DL. You guys didnt set a time but did say Spring, March and April do fall in spring. Either way I couldnt go then, so location doesnt really matter to me.

:

pam, you should feel free to say anything you want to about the spring meet. you are as much a part of the group as everyone else here.
i never posted anything negative just thought i should let everyone know up front i wasn't in for nyc. nothing negative about that. i just said nyc is not my thing. i have no plans for dl either. the only plans i have in the spring next year is maybe fort sumter or andersonville. it depends on what the round table votes on. but the civil war trips coincide with easter and i would doubt this group would do a meet on the easter weekend.

as for disney, that is a family place for most of you and i wouldn't expect it to be a meet place. when that idea came up over a year ago, i was the one that said i was out on that one. i do the solo trips in late september the last 5 years to disney and universal. the one meet down there coincides with 4 of my booked dates. i'll be seeing deena and sweets there for at least one of the days if we hook up and go up to universal. but, nothing has been planned on that yet. too early.

don't shy away about talking about the spring meet. just because some can't go doesn't mean you can't discuss it here. and.......still waiting for the photos !!

i wanna see a drowned rat as mic put it.....

show me yours and i will show you mine
:rolleyes1

a drowned rat is not a pretty thing......... ;)

all this talk of going away....heck, I'm ready to go someplace right now... :cool1: the weather is beautiful, I'm stuck inside, have no funds for travel and don't have the time............so other than that, I'm ready to roll :rotfl: Poor me huh? Oh well, that is something to save for....

I'm actually trying to work something out for oldest gs to come visit us this summer...I thought we had it all ironed out and they threw a monkey wrench in the plans last night...and guess what that is??? his other grandma wants to take him to WDW ! I said go for it, that would be so nice for him. But, I'm sure those plans will change again before it's all said and done.

I used to have a talking doll...chatty cathy, scared the **** of me for some reason. BTW, she was blonde:teeth:

Thanks for the directions, does seem like a bit of a haul. Maybe I'll talk DS & buddies into going to WDW for a few days via MCO & ME. Friend could drive up to see them. He went for high-end mechanic training in Orlando for a year & really talked up the Pleasure Island nightlife to DS. IMO, I'd feel better that his 1st trip off on his own be somewhere he's been before.

I have that Billy Joel album w/Allentown song (how old am I?). Hear tell there's good shopping/candy store in Sharon, PA, but I never make it past Grove City Outlets.
