Hey Mac, so glad you are with us again, how was the trip?? aside from the @#$%^&*() ^ language you picked up along the way...hey might come in handy when driving the son back to school, you know you could mouth the words out through the car window and give them a single salute...... :flower:

Adam, your meal sounds delicious, although a few things I would pick different, not a fan of blue cheese dressing nor crab, but it sounds wonderful and I agree, there is not other way to eat a steak but rare, rare, rare....any other way to me you may as well not bother......and you were filled up, isn't that great!!! Glad you had fun and met someone from a small world.. :rotfl: and as you say, it is indeed a small world.

Ed, you as usual crack me up, I can always use a dose of humor and you give it to me...and yes, I've heard tonic used also.......

Mac, your Cliff Notes of what has been going on while you are gone are right on sista........you catch up quick.......and the readers digest version of why yesterday was my last day.........the office turned into the office from hades, the girl I worked with left, they promised me the position, which one day later took away from me, told me my days were numbered, til 1/1/06 and told them I'm outta here on the last day of the pay period, which was yesterday....now take a deep breath, did you get it all? Oh, and I went on an interview yesterday and I felt very good when I left, so wish me luck, that is your only job today!!!

Thanks to all for the cards, they are awesome.........you guys are the best!

i didn't get any cards..................

off to work

mic, be lazy and sassy today on your last day of work.
you will sleep better if you do

Holy crippies it is cold and windy outside today!!!!

I somehow caught a cold between the kids leaving yesterday and going to my sorority last night! :confused3 I did however get some very nice things last night: one from a grab bag and the other from my secret sis!

Okay i have to put my $.02 in!

first of all adam your dinner sounds awsome, but rare? oh come on, you might as well cut the horns off, wipe...oh nevermind..if you have even seen The Cowboy Way you already know what I was going to say! :teeth:

ed--tonic???? I have heard it called alot of things, but seriously never that!

Mac--so glad you are home! Hope your trip was good and I hope everything is okay! You know, what we talked about the other night! Now get to work and go make that money for Baltimore!!! :teeth:

Mic--yay! your last day of work was yesterday! What are you going to do with yourself?

kild--hey...stick with mac...she will fill you in on the pages so then you will only have to read a little bit! :rotfl:

Bob--how is it going being a single daddy? Is your mil helping you out! :rotfl2:

I have to get my kids out the door...i will post more later as i have a lot of $.02!!! :teeth:

oh and i forgot to say....

i have heard that if you put salted nuts in coke it taste good, but i have never tried it. I have tried green olives in beer though....don't knock it till you try it!! :teeth: I didn't think it would be good, but you know....it isn't all that bad!

oh and the m&m's: hmmm....i am beginning to think ocm will suck the chocolate out of anything!? It seems maybe we found a soft spot for her...if all else fails...give her chocolate!!! :teeth:

Your right. And my favorite coke is Dr Pepper :teeth:

you know what i find funny about this? That Dr. Pepper isn't a Coke product! It is it's own company I believe! So what do you call Pepsi? :confused3 Coke! :rotfl:

Yes, Dr Pepper even has a museum down here in Texas. We take our DP very seriously. And yes any soda, tonic, pop whatever is called coke down here. Of course when you actually order it you have to say DP but otherwise its just coke in general.

When we can we post what we got from out SS? I have rec'd mine (all of it) and Im excited to tell everyone what I got!

Not bad -- it helps when my oldest is being a big boy and helping by doing things like getting ready for bed by himself. :) :)

MIL's contribution was limited to Wed. night -- she's in Florida now (thankfully :goodvibes ).

I know a couple of people don't have theirs yet, but should hopefully be getting them anyday! I guess if you want to post what you got you can! Is it only mic, and mac that have not gotten theirs yet?

Yes! that always helps when they are being big and doing things on their own!

That is good that MIL isn't around to give you dirty looks and bad comments! I bet you miss her so much! :teeth:

Good Morning everybody.
I dont call it tonic anymore, I got out of the habit when we started traveling to different parts of the country and noone knew what the heck I was talking about.

"Moxie is older than Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola. It had a distinct, strong medicine taste, and in its best year of 1920 it outsold Coca-Cola.

Augustin Thompson created Moxie in Lowell Ma. in 1876, about ten years before Coke. He was a medical doctor who brewed up a mixture to make "Moxie Nerve Food". It was billed as a medicine which can "recover brain and nervous exhaustion; loss of manhood, imbecility and helplessness. It has recovered paralysis, softening of the brain, locomotor ataxia and insanity". Moxie Nerve Food, like all early soft drinks in America, was first created as a medicine, not a recreational drink. "

Which is why New englanders refer to soda as Tonic. :teacher:
