I'm showered and dressed, that was an accomplishment this morning....I have a headache and problems with my one eye today...seeing stuff floating about...I get this every now and again, and I think it is something from migraine type headaches........oh well, good excuse to be lazy today.

Mac and Jules, all those kitties are cute. I don't hate cats, in fact, I rather like them, the rest of my family does not like them though.

Adam, what excellent news for your son...so glad all is well and he is on the mending road now...just tell him to listen to the Dr.'s and you guys so it heals the way it should. Tell him he has lots of cyber friends sending good his way.

Jules, you are right about the dates on the calendar for the seasons, it just seems the seasons don't read or look at a calendar when they decide to settle in....well in our area anyway...

Ocm is attending the funeral I think today of their friend. Deena I caught up with quickly this a.m. and she is being lazy today too........her brood was still asleep and she was being quiet....but Connor used the potty.........HIP HIP HOORAY.........

I guess nobody ever asked me. I happen to have 2 furbabies at home. Tazette and Fuzzball. I've had Fuzzball for 13 years now and Tazette was rescued from a box left at the side of a road by my DW about 7 years ago. I'll never forget coming home that evening from work. I went into the bedroom and there was this furry little thing sleeping on my pillow. Resting up against this little creature was a note that read:

"I will make a great lap-kitty. Will you please take care of me?"

Well, needless to say, she had me at hello.

welcome to cat land........i have 2. one is diabetic and i give her injections every 12 hours. she is now 11
the other is a rascal........2 years old and she thinks she still is a kitten.
she was found at a rest stop in wisconsin. my son wanted to help her.

she was abused and about 7 weeks old when we got her. the vet said she was in sorry shape. her whiskers were burned off, feet pads burned completely, cut ears, and lot of hair missing. she lost her voice the vet said as the chords were somehow damaged. to this day, she can't talk or make cat sounds. but we love her just as she is.

All this talk about kitties has reminded me of something sad. A freind/ coworker came into work yesterday and told us that her cat came down stairs in the morning ran past her husband like he always does, then went into the kitchen, fell over and died. He was only 6 , they think he had a sudden stroke or a heart attack, but they can't be sure because her husband wouldn't let them do a necropsy/autopsy. Now their other cat has to be tested in case he had something contagious.

Yes we have been taking a go at the potty training. Its going pretty slow, lol. He has gone in the potty a few times but.......it looks like its gonna be a long road for me.
Im not a hate cat hater but Im not a cat lover. I used to be animal crazy but I guess having so many kids I just have no desire to have an animal.
Mac I didnt have any problems with my dining ressies. So far they are:
Sat 9/10: ohana
Sun 9/11 Cali Grill
Mon 9/12 Le Cellier
Tue 9/13 Prime Time

All of our ressies are for 9 people.

Deena, how old is ds (the potty training one)? Is he home with you all the time? Just curious, a lot of the parents with kids in the daycare, do this thing where they just keep them home for a long weekend to potty train them. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. I'm not exactly a cat lover as much as an animal lover . . . you can give me anything with fur, and lots of things without fur and I'll be happy . Just don't give me anything with feathers .

mac, to answer a question from way back...YES...my tongue was on the ground when those guys hopped out of the cabs....and dh was very happy for me........cause I had just remarked on the drive down, that I really, really wanted to try and see Damon and Millar in person! I never would have seen them that close on the field as we did standing where we were when they rolled in. To us, they both appeared younger and thinner in real person, but oh my, Johnny does have the "rock star" thing going........and Ortiz is a big man, but he did not look quite as big as on TV. They all had the tans going and dressed oh so casual, jeans and well worn t's.... It sure was a bummer than a bunch of them did not play last night, but...it still was a thrill for this old gal. Its pitiful to be so starstruck at my age... NAH....I don't care, just living the moment and enjoying life...

Isn't there a line from the movie "Tommy Boy" (which I love...lol) that says something about being on TV adds a few pounds, like 200 lbs. or so? So hence, you won't be seeing this gal on TV anytime soon.............. but I guess that contributes to the players looking a little larger on the screen than in person.

mac, glad you liked the kitty at the mac, I thought it was kinda cute........

I had a cat when we first got married...(see, newlywed husband's will do anything for the new bride.....32 yrs. later we have a different spin on this story...lol) and it was white with black spots and really cute...his name was Bo Bo.......

Sounds like a good age . I just love the parents who try to do that weekend thing when their kid is just barely 2 and then they get mad at us for telling them the need to come to daycare in a diaper because they're having 4 or 5 accidents a day .

Im not for pushing the really young ones, however with my 5 yr old and now this one it looks like pushing was the only way. They would be content in a diaper. Neither really cared and didnt want to use the potty. Evan was probably close to 3 and half and I just put my foot down and made him use the potty and finally after he did he saw it was much better than that nasty diaper. Here's hoping Connor has that same realization soon!

I know you do have to push a little sometimes. It just bugs me when parents push their kids when they're still very young and then they don't understand that just putting your child in underwear doesn't make them potty trained . Kids will often do better with potty training while their home than they do at daycare too. Well, I'm off for a bit. See, not just a cat lover, check out my latest signature addition
