LOL froggy . . . I have the same opinion of chicken, and for the same reason. My mom made an awful lot of it when I was younger, now I can barely stand to look at it ~ blech :earboy2: !

Now for Sandra Dee, mentioned by ocm...she was married to Bobby Darin who passed away at the young age of 37, they had a son Dodd. She was the original Gidget in the movie.

See, told you I was a fountain of trivia....lol............... :flower1:

ahh yes :) . . . Gidget, one of my favorites ::yes::, and of course, the first is the best ;), gotta love Sandra Dee

came back to say i just tried to send a pm to someone but it won't go through i get a message dis has disabled members. don't know what that means............my pm won't work now. maybe this is a temp thing.

Hey Pam - do you think people know what cold turkey is????

hey little ocm...we know cold turkey when we see it.... :earboy2:

............mac...what have you done now................. :earseek: broke your pm....

yes, there are more than 3....Sandra Dee was the original...then it was Gidget Goes Hawaiian...Gidget Goes to Rome....then several made for TV Gidget movies where she got married and worked at the UN in New York...then after the newer version of the TV show was on in the 90's I think, there was another movie about her married life and throwing a birthday party for Jeff turning 30.

what is the deal with my aim--i can't get it to work--all i am seeing is blank!
I hate it when these thing go bad

In 1985, a syndicated made-for-television film called Gidget's Summer Reunion did well in the ratings. Actress Caryn Richman played a now-grown-up Gidget (who owned her own travel agency); Dean Butler was her girlhood idol (and now husband) Moondoggie; who traded his surfboard for a drafting table as a city architect. The film led to a syndicated series The New Gidget, with Richman, Butler, and Sydney Penny as Gidget's niece Danni, not unlike a modern version of the teenager Gidget used to be. William Schallart of The Patty Duke Show and other series played Gidget's father Russ Lawrence in this version, which ran longer than the original series--a two-year stretch from 1986 until 1988. It was an OK sitcom, but an older Gidget seemed to be a contradiction to the fun-loving girl many of us grew up with. ( I was thinking early 90's, but it was even earlier than that...lol)
