Hi Pam, glad you are back with us...take a deep breath and jump in

I always , every year felt sad on the first day of school...even when they were older...I really wasn't one for wishing their summer away and saying I can't wait for school to start...not that they were not known to drive me nuts but it was just a right of passage, but it meant they were another year older....those years went by very quickly. Wait til you daughter starts, once they both get in school, time flies by...I don't know why, but it does..I had 4 years between the boys and I said when oldest graduated...wow, I've got 4 more years before I have to go thru this again...and gee, those 4 years are gone and 3 more on top of it! Guess I'm just getting old....and Froggy, you can pirate away...

all groups need an evil one and i am volunteering for that position with what i am about to post.


first three kids, cried all day on their first day of school. kindergarten was okay but it was first grade that hit me hard. i cried as i walked them to school, which by the way was across the street from us, and cried even after they came home from school. i was a mess...........................

on last son, i was thrilled on his first day of school............did cartwheels and handstands i was so happy.............................

could finally go out and not have someone snitch on me on what i did with my "free time"

still don't regret it.

i adjusted quite well with all of them in school .....................then i went back to work 4 months after the youngest went to first grade. worked part time. couldn't let lose of my newly earned free time........................................

LOL mac - I didnt cry taking my kids to preschool and dropping them off. (well, DS anyway.) DD I leave on Wedsnaday and I wont cry then either..although she will.

I dont know about kindergarten, but I think I would be the same way you are.

I dont think it is evil at all.

You're not evil my friend Mac, I said I cried when they first went off to school and I always felt sad for them going back...I didn't say I didn't enjoy my free time from them!! LOL....you're funny!! In fact, at the time kindergarden was still only a 1/2 day, and it seemed like they no sooner got out the door and then it was time for them to be back home again....

Pre-school seemed different anyway, that was something I chose for them to do, it wasn't that they had to go, so maybe that didn't bother me as much...anyway, now that I think of it, only #1 did preschool, #2 didn't because they stopped having the one that oldest attended...and yes, oldest cried several times going to preschool, and the lady running it had done it for YEARS, would just shu you away...go, he'll be fine once YOU leave....and it was true.
