Tervis tumbler on board?

We are leaving on our first disney cruise next month. I've read about these tumblers in a few places, and they seem like a great idea. Can I buy them once on board, or should I buy and pack them? If they are on board I think it would be a great souvenir and would rather wait. Thanks!

They've had them on all our sailings in the last year. Varying designs and sizes. I will say if you like a particular design, grab it when you see it. They are popular and sometimes a design will be there the first night but out if you try to get it on night number four.

We have several DCL ones and really like them.

I don't know what the prices are, but you can find different styles at Bed, Bath and Beyond too. They've had them on sale and/or find a coupon on your smart phone to save some more. I liked having the water bottle style on our last cruise. Came in very handy on the ship as well as excursions.

Here's my constant warning for Tervis. Do not get sunscreen on them. Sunscreens can permanently mess up the look of the plastic.

When you buy Tervis from Tervis they include a warning about this. From Disney though (and also bed bath beyond) you don't get that tag.

Tervis does offer assistance if you mess up a mug but they can't replace a Disney cruise one. And you can't guarantee that you can replace it on a cruise. A sweet dis'er got me a mug in april or march that I saw on our feb cruise...over the summer I messed it up, thought I could replace it on October cruise but that style was totally gone.

Buy a Tervis handle ahead of time and use it. Don't grasp the mug with sunscreen on your hands.

(In feb the dream had 20+ oz mugs that would have taken the big handle. In oct they only had 16 oz which require the small handles)

They have several designs in the 16 oz size. I bought four of the five including one only sold on CC and used them during the trip since we take dish soap with us. They had a 24 oz pirate one but I wasn't a fan. That was the only large one.

Thanks to the PP about the sunscreen - didn't come across that. The tumblers change - the ones we bought on the Dream and even at CC last Dec were not available this Dec.

Just got off the Fantasy and they had many designs, mostly the smaller size. There was a new DCL block design and a blue/green stripe design in the one shop I call the adult shop. In Mickey Mailsail there were the 2014 DCL one in 24 oz size, pirate one also 24 oz. and I also saw a smaller one that was a wrap picture of the boat with the characters. At the pool deck in the shop by the elevators, there was an Aquaduck Tervis. At CC, there was a CC tumbler.

They all come with a lid but I didn't see any other Tervis accessories.

The 24 oz. tumblers all take the handles with the two rings that go around the cup. The smaller handle has only one ring.

We took our own tumblers on board, the 16 oz. size. I loved having them but the one downside was they don't fit in the theatre cup holders ... But that is easily solved by keeping the lid closed between uses

I'm not sure where you are cruising to, but they have them on board the ships and at Castaway Cay. I have purchased two on board the ships-one on the Fantasy and one on the Wonder. Saw one on Castaway Cay. If you search on the disboards for Tervis, you should get some pictures of the designs available.

I think I'll get a cheap insulated mug at target (with cash) and personalize it by writing my name on it with a sharpie.

Thanks - I was trying to figure out what color handles to get! I like to match!
