Terry's Marathon training thread (Comments welcome)

:grouphug: Terry,

I am so sorry to hear that you were caught in that mess. You and I both know that you would have finished in the designated time. I am so proud of your accomplishment. I think you should definately write the letter. It would help you resolve your feelings. I don't know that anything more will come of it, but you would have expressed your feeling of disappointment.

I hope you have a great day. I am so proud of you.
Beth

I finally got some pictures uploaded. I hope these aren't too huge for the DIS boards! Wilderness, I added your name but forgot to take another picture. Sorry about that. :(

Here is a picture of me with the WISHers! I tied an additional string in the middle of the heads and then tied the whole thing to my ponytail. I even got a couple of nice comments on Marathon Morning. :)

Here is a close-up of the Mickey heads. Again - Wilderness, I wish I had remembered to take another picture after I added your name!

Last but not least, this was our 'finish' photo. ;) We took this with Mickey at breakfast Monday morning at Chef Mickey's. A good way to end our visit!

We are off to ds's basketball practice and then his Cub Scout pine derby race! Have a good evening everyone!

PS: I am wearing the nice coolmax shirt we received at the Expo as part of our registration.

Terry - Great pictures!!! Thanks for taking us along with you... I was exhausted, but you got me through it :earboy2:

Hi there Terry,

Those are great pictures. Thank you so much for bringing me with you. You are a special lady.

I wanted to thank you. You inspired me to stay on the glider for an additional 30 minutes. Thank you for the example you set.

Have a great weekend.

Terry, I am so very sorry that they did not allow you and so many others to finish the race. It really stinks. You definitely earned your medal, they might have robbed you of the finish line but you know in your heart you were on pace and you would have done it, please wear and display the medal with pride. Even without the finish line you accomplished something great that day!

I love your pictures, thanks so much for taking me along with you and not making me hide in the fanny pack, whew, it's hot enough down here! LOL

You and your sister are both adorable! The picture with Mickey is my favorite. :flower1:

Terry,

Thank you so much for taking me to WDW with you! You are such a sweetie!!!!

I am so sorry for what happened to you and others on the day of the race. :sad2: I would definitely make Disney aware of the situation. ::yes::

Terry, let me say that I know for a fact that you would have finished that race in the designated time. I am so proud of you for all that you have accomplished in the past year. You have inspired me in so many different ways. Thank you so much!

Have a great weekend!! :flower1:

Hello Ladies! It is I, bearer of the whip!

I do so enjoy those smilies!

Well, I had my follow-up visit with the MS doctor today. Everything is going GREAT! :cool1: She still thinks I am crazy for doing the marathon, but I am doing fine. :jumping4: I have to get my blood checked again in April, but I don't need to see her again until the summer (unless something happens, of course). Woo Hoo! I wasn't expecting her to find anything wrong, but I am thrilled nonetheless. :teeth:

I have to run because we are going to see my sister's boyfriend's new puppy! He is a pug/sh*tzu. All I know is he is small and cute. ;)

HAHAHAHA, Terry got zapped by the dirty word filter!

I'm glad everything went well at your doctor visit today!

Have fun playing with the naughty puppy! :teeth:

Hi Terry,
Congrats on a great dr visit.

I love the whip!!!! I'll be on my best behavior for sure!

Keep up the great work :cheer2:

Sundie

Glad to hear your doctor's visit went well.

Hey I love that whip smilie and the poker one too! Too funny!!!

You are amazing Terry! Your inspiration and courage give me so much energy! Thanks!

Hi Terry, so sorry we never got to meet! I love your pics! Sorry that you were part of that horrible disney mistake :guilty: will you try & do the st louis marathon?

Stay positive & have a wonderful weekend :flower1:

I just finished reading your WISH journal. I feel sad for you for what you had to go through at the marathon. It seems like you are trying to put it in perspective though and good for you! It sounds like you did very well and you should be so proud of yourself given your MS especially! :cheer2:

I am dying to hear about the puppy. I am a dog lover through and through. We have Kip, an almost 2 yr old rescued Border Collie mix. He is awesome and a true member of our family. The kids refer to him as their little brother! So tell all about the new addition. BTW, wierd combo of dogs, huh? You just never know...

I hope life is settling down for you a bit now that you are back from the marathon trip. Keep up the great work and great attitude too! :D

I really appreciate all the positive vibes you send my way! :goodvibes

im sorry i missed seeing ya there! i LOVED the mickey heads!! sorry it didnt end up going the way it should have, but you did great :)

It's going to be hard to talk about the new puppy if I keep getting filtered. ;) He is a real cutie. BO weighs in at 4 pounds, is completely black except for a tiny white beard under his mouth. Very cute. Imagine a sh*tzu with pug eyes and that's what he looks like. I took a picture and will post it when I get it back.

Boy - settling back into routine is hard. I feel like I am getting pulled one hundred ways and no one is giving up. The basement is a bigger disaster than it was before I left for the marathon. The bathroom has been gutted (Dh decided this?), there is a lot of debris scattered throughout, and lots of drywall that needs to be repaired. I think, reasonally, it will be a couple of weeks before we can even start painting.

This 'short' week feels like it is going to be a crazy one. We have DH's BIL coming in from out of state for a combo visit/business trip, Scout meeting, tutoring, 2 basketball practices, 3 basketball games, etc, etc,. DS won the Pine Derby races last Thursday so now he has to go on to the District race! He was SO happy to finally have a winning car. I hope he isn't too disappointed at Districts.

I have decided to go back to WW Flex points, until I can spend some time going over South Beach. It wouldn't be fair to me or the program to start it half-heartedly, so I will go back to what I know can work until I am ready to try something else. I need to fit in some exercise today since Monday was my 'off' day.

I hope everyone is having a good week!

Hey Terry - You sound like me with practices, games, etc. I don't know what I'll do with myself once the kids are in college... probably party :cool1: :cool1: Congratulations to your DS on winning the derby race. My neighbors have two sons that are also into that whole thing and I believe they have races this coming weekend.

Good decision on holding off on the South Beach until you get all the information. Maybe the flex is what you need to through things around a bit.

Have a great day!!

Hi Terry,

The puppy sounds very cute. As for the filter, well I got filtered for posting a recipe with ****ake mushrooms. And I will again.

I'm so glad the doctor's appointment went well. It is always a relief to hear that things are ok.

Don't worry about delaying the beach. It will still be there. Good luck with the renovations and your schedule.

Take care,
Beth
