Hi: Can someone tell me how far in the 124 foot acrylc tube the chicken door is. I have a person who gets migraines very easily and thinking this attraction might do it, so wondering how far in the get out door is (chicken door) Also is it nice and cool in this area.

Terrors of the deep pretty much is no longer . They don't really push the Jaws-feeding frenzy type shark hype at Sea World. It is now just standing on the moving floor and going through the tunnel looking at sharks. There isn't the movie before you go in the tunnel etc. like they had back when they opened the tube.

If you think being in the tunnel will be a problem I would be inclined to say just have her skip this one.

I'm prone to migraines, too, and I can't imagine what in there would trigger them. No flashing lights or anything. The conveyer belt keeps you moving along with everyone at the same pace, so you don't need to be squished, either.

Looking into fish aquariums, and the moving aspect on the conveyer belt, rather than standing still, might bother my daughter.
I think it is the dizzy factor with everything moving around. She gets a trigger and within 5 minutes can be at the vomiting stage, hers are very severe. It is weird but it does it to her.

Thanks,

Deb.

approx. how many minutes are you going under the "tube"? Can you just walk swiftly out of that area? This attraction wasn't open on our trip last time.

You don't have to stay where you are in the belt. He/She could walk on the belt out of the tube. there a museam (as I remember) before and after the belt.
You could always pre-ride the ride.

Hope this helps!

AmoDolphin - thank you for this information and preriding is a great idea to judge it for my kids.

The only problem with walking on through is that if it is crowded you might have to excuse yourself past people. Most people just stand on the conveyer and let it take them through.

Could she just close her eyes if it bothers her? I honestly don't think it will.

(AmoDolphin's mom :-))

As I recall, there are actually 2 parts to this attraction, when you enter it is just a walkway (not a conveyor) through the first giant aquarium. You can go at your own pace. The conveyor begins in the shark area, presumably to keep people from bottlenecking. That part is over with within a couple minutes, and the lights are low, the temperature is nice and cool, so I would hope it would have a calming effect.
If the motion bothers your daughter why not just have face you and give her a hug with her eyes closed, so as not to feel or see the motion.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

When i went in Feb to sw.....terrors of the deep was ok..but it got really hot in there and some people stunk so i got sick and tried to hurry out but there really wasnt anywhere to go cause it was so many people in there it was line to get on the thing to go through the tube.
