Do NOT try to squish a wolf spider if it looks fuzzy. My friend (lives in Florida) did that once - the fuzz is actually baby spiders. Wolf spiders carry their young on their legs and back - which look like hair.
As my friend learned, you may get momma, but you'll also get hundreds of baby spiders running all over.
Palmetto bugs are gross, but not harmful. I'm more creeped out by the spider!
That is one of the most horrifying things I have ever heard/read! I will be having nightmares about that!
As far as the palmetto bugs/roaches go, I have only seen a couple at WDW. One was on the curb on Main Street crawling under someone's shorts during the parade and one was crawling on the back of a seat on a boat from BC to MGM. I had to switch seats.

If one of those things crawled under my shorts they would have to commit me! If it was in the boat I would probably jump out (and I am not a fan of water either)!!
Seriously, these things are really the same thing as the "waterbugs" I sometimes find in my basement in the Spring? And many times they make their way up and find their way to my kitchen sink, despite the fact that I keep it spotless with no dishes in it and the drain closed! The ones I see do not fly though. Same bug? How much do the flying ones actually fly? Like any other flying bug or much less and slower? They sure run fast!
