I have read a few postings that US Air is one of the airlines that have a terminal at the port. Can anyone verify this? If so, has anyone ever used it? I would appreciate any info. Our plane back to Phila after the cruise does not leave until 9:15 pm, so I reserved a car through Avis, figured we could bop around the Space Center or do an airboat ride....unfortunately, after I looked at my confirmation, it turns out that the car I reserved (a Sunfire) only has trunk capacity for one large and one small suitcase. I really do not want to pay for anything bigger (there are only 4 of us) just to throw suitcases in. If this terminal is available at the port it would solve my problem. TIA.

US Airways DID have a baggage check-in option at the port when we were there in June, although we didn't use it. I don't know how regular of a deal that is with that particular airline though. Remember they also announced fairly large flight cuts (and one would assume layoffs) recently. Don't know if that would affect convience services like this. The best thing to do is just call them or DCL and ask.

I know you said you don't want to pay for an upgrade, but that's usually one of the questions they ALWAYS ask you as part of the process. I've noticed that sometimes they'll offer you the upgrade at the counter for less than what it would have cost if you'd booked a larger class during the initial booking. Like upgrading for $5 more instead of $10 more. That seems to vary though so I guess I wouldn't necessarily count on finding a deal.

This may not work for you, but it was great for us. We never have enough trunk space since we always go for 2 week, 1 week cruise and 1 week parks. This year I rented from Budget, same convience as Avis. Our kids were 6 and 7 and I rented one of the ranger pick-ups with the pull down back seats. It was great. The bed has a fully inclosed top with a lock. We had 8 suitcases and a few carry ons, and everything fit in great. After the cruise we really lucked out because they gave us a full 150 ranger, the one with 4 doors for the same price. The cost was $29 a day, not including taxes.

When we sailed on 8/3 and disembarked on 8/10 U.S. Air did have a check in at the termal. There was absolutely no one in line to check in. All the other terminals had very long lines, but U.S. Air was virtually empty.

I do not know if this is a good thing or a bad thing for you. I hope they continue it.

We were flying Continental with a flight home at 6:30 pm. We were not sure if they would take our luggage that early because I had heard that they only check-in luggage for a flight within 4 or so hours of check in and if you have booked DCL transfers.

We waited in line and had all our tickets and ID's ready and they checked us in. It was a life saver because we had 6 people with 8 suitcases and had rented a mini-van for the day. We barely fit the luggage in on the way to port and we knew driving all day with all that luggage before our flight was not going to work. BTW, we did not have Disney transfers.

Hope this helps.
