Teresa's WISH Jouranl (Comments Welcomed)

Thanks Amanda - I'm not sure "wasting away" is the word I would choose, but I'm getting there :goodvibes

We are heading out for our first camping trip of the season today. I was able to get an hour in at the gym early this morning, so I should be set. I was up about 3 pounds today from Tuesday and I'm not sure why. I know TOM is about a week away, but this seems early to be retaining (my clothes don't feel tighter). I'm drinking extra water today and will watch what I eat this weekend. A friend & I plan to get walks in every day, so I "should" be okay by Tuesday. I still am shooting to lose 1 more pound and be down under 150

Hi Tera,

OMG!!!! You are doing so fantastic! You are the Amazing Shrinking Tera :cheer2: Congrats!

Enjoy your camping trip! We haven't gone camping since we had a bear encounter 3 years ago :( It was quite scarey and DD won't even consider going again :confused3

Sunny

Hi Tera,

You are doing an awesome job. You will have the 140's so soon. I am so proud of you.

Enjoy your camping trip.

Take care,
Beth

Thanks Sunny - The trip was great... no bears, but we DID have a moose go through out campgroud. It was pretty good. I know what you mean about the bears. I use to go up to Yosemite a lot since I have a friend up there. We had bears in the campsite several times. You just learn not to have food around at night (we lock it up at night) and loud noises usually keep them away (not hard with 24 in our group :teeth: )

Thanks Beth - I can't believe just 10 months ago, I was in the 200's and NEVER thought I would be at this weight :goodvibes

Well the camping trip was a lot of fun. We had the BEST weather :sunny: :sunny: Eating was pretty good, keeping my portions down, no snacking and drank my water. I didn't indulge in drinking except for wine coolers (wine & diet sprite) on Friday and then drank water all day on Saturday. I walked every day and did a 5 mile hike on Saturday. I weighed when I got home and I was up 5 pounds, so I might be okay. We'll see tomorrow morning. I plan to do cardio in the morning to help burn off some calories and since it's suppose to be in the 90's, we'll head to the pool. We leave for our San Francisco road trip in 4 weeks, so I want to get down 10 more pounds.... it's going to be tough :earseek:

Well today I feel BLAH :earseek: I got up and started TOM 3 days early  What's up with THAT? :confused3 The scale said 152, so I'm not sure if that's from camping or TOM or a little of both. I don't expect any kind of a loss tomorrow and it looks like there will be a little gain. I'm okay with that, knowing that sooner or later, the water will WHOOSH.

Set the alarm for 7:00am today and went to the gym. I did 30 minutes on the ellptical and 60 minutes on the treadmill. Not bad considering how I feel. I had a dentist appt this afternoon which doesn't help.

Food today has been:

muffin & 8 oz skim milk for breakfast
Koshi bar after the gym
muffin after the dentist
egg whites & toast for late lunch

I've had about 96 ounces of water so far

Tomorrow I plan to do the treadmill before WI since it's so late after my meeting. Doubt it'll make much of a difference :sad2:

Well today's weigh in was exactly what I expected, gaining .6 Even though the scale said 151 (down 1 from yesterday), I feel just as bloated. I'm not too upset about it and will refocus this week to have a big loss next week. So I'm 57 pounds loss and only 3 pounds away from 60. I'm still not sure about my WW goal, thinking if I set it too high, I might not lose what I really need (want) to. I think it'll depend how much I can drop the next few weeks. I have 8 coupons (prepaid) left and don't want to have to pay much more after that.

I did get 70 minutes on the treadmill before WW. I prefer to go earlier than waiting after my meeting. I cleaned out most of the garage today and plan to work out in the yard after my dentist appt. It's hot today, so I'll make sure to drink my water.

I'm thinking about switching to the Core program, but need to do some grocery shopping before. I think this will be a good change for me as well as my family. We'll see how it goes.

Well I'm still feeling BLAH today :earseek: and not surprised to see the scale at 152 this morning. I'm not going to worry about it.... yet  The dogs woke me up early, so I headed to the gym by 7:00 and did 20 minutes on the stairmaster and 50 minutes on the treadmill. I'm really trying to keep my workouts more "reasonable" I just can't do 2 hour workouts anymore.

I took the girls to Pirate's Cove (local waterpark) for 3 hours, which was VERY crowded, but fun. I'm very happy to report that my butt actually fit into the tube this year since last year, it was too big (my butt  )

Food for today has been good:

muffin & skim milk for breakfast
1/2 turkey sandwich, veggies & string cheese for lunch
Fat Free hot dog (2) and fries for dinner
small (and I mean SMALL) banana split from Sonic for dessert

I think I've had about 110 ounces of water today, but I don't feel like I've drank that much.

Tomorrow I think I will head out for a long walk before it gets too hot. Getting bored being at the gym every morning and will try something different. No rush to get home (DH will be home with girls), so I can take as long as I want.

Well today has been a pretty good day. I got up and did my walk as planned. Only bag things was my MP3 player was almost dead, so barely got an hour walk in. I didn't go too far from home (in case it died and I was without my music), so I got just 3 miles in, plus it was getting hot, even at 8:00am this morning. Tomorrow I will get up 1/2 hour earlier and try again. I did enjoy walking outside for a change.

I spent the next 4 hours in the yard and cleaning off our back patio. When I did take a break inside to cool off, I picked up around the house. I knew if I sat down to take a rest, I'd be done for the day. I got a lot of yard work done that I have been putting off for awhile.

Food today was good and I think my water intake was better than yesterday. I still am retaining some water, so I hope to see a difference tomorrow. Losing the 57 has been easy, but I have a feeling these last 15 pounds are going to be tough.

It's been a busy couple of days for me, so I need to catch up on my journal.

Friday I did get out for that walk and was able to get 5 miles in. The trails around our house are really nice and need to do those more often.

We had Happy Hour at the neighbors and I did have a few drinks. They also had BLT's, which I did without the B  I also had some fruit salad and a regular salad, so overall I think I did well. I did have a slice of strawberry pie

Saturday I worked in the yard again and drank my water. We had a birthday party at a neighbors, so I knew there was going to be temptations. I did have 2 beers, but then drank my water the rest of the evening. Food was pretty good and did even have a slice of cake. It was SO good :goodvibes

Today I've been in the yard yet again and really REALLY trying to get the water down. The scale said 152.5, so I know I'm still retaining water from the past couple of days. I hope by tomorrow it'll be gone. I was shooting for 148 for my weigh in Tuesday, but looks like I will have to wait another week for that.

Last night at the party, I had several neighbors that I hadn't seen in a while not even recongize me. One said I looked 15 years old, so of course, my comment was "So I look 20?" :teeth: Hell... I just want to look MY age, not older.

Hi Tera

About WW goals: I've heard that many people set their WW goal as high as possible to make lifetime so they don't have to keep paying. At first I didn't want to go that route. I wanted my WW goal to be my real goal. But then when my WL slowed to barely a creep I started to get discouraged and wondered if I could go it the long haul. So I opted for the high WW goal. It should save me a good $200 dollars, too!!!! So my plan is to make lifetime ASAP (hopefully goal will be next week) and then take my own sweet time creeping down to my personal goal.

I can't believe you are nearly in the 140s :earseek: :cheer2: I remember when we were neck and neck, then you left me in the dust :rotfl2:

Keep up the great work :cheer2:

Sunny

Sunny - I think it's going to depend on how long it takes me to get these last few pounds off whether I go for the top range or not. I haven't really hit that plateau yet, but it's definitely starting to slow down. I really REALLY want to be at MY goal by my one year anniversary with WW, which is Aug 24th. We'll see how it goes.

So I'm feeling a little depressed today about how I'm looking. My DH has pointed out when I bent over how flabby my legs looked, he assumes from the excess skin :confused3 So now I'm thinking I've lost ALL this weight to now have skin hanging instead of fat. So I ask myself... What's worse?? Has it been worth it? I thought when I got to a certain weight/size, I'd be wearing all these cut little outfits. Now granted, I am wearing smaller tops and they are cute, but my legs.... :earseek: :earseek: This has really gotten to me today. If we had the money, I wouldn't have any second thoughts about getting this "taken care" of, but we don't, so what do I do? I'm working out hard still, focusing on my legs, but will they really ever tighten up??? :confused3

Yesterday I drank my water like crazy and only saw a .5 loss today, so tomorrow isn't looking so great. I will continue to drink my water today and hope for the best. I do plan to pick food tomorrow to try the Core program and see if that helps jump start my weight loss again.

I hope today gets better.........

HiTera,

I am right there with you. My extra skin is in my belly and my newly saggy behind.. It is so frustrating. I have a friend who lost 95 pounds. She said it took abot 3 year, but her skin did eventually firm up. She looks phenomenal. I just keep waiting.

You are doing a great job and are much healthier now. Good Luck with the CORE program.
Take care,
Beth

Tera,

Don't despair! My legs have made some major improvements in the last 4-6 weeks. Sometime in May I was really discouraged to see my cellulite stretched nearly all the way to my knees on the backs of my legs. Now there's only a little at the very top of my thighs. My legs and butt are the slowest to respond to exercise (I'm a pear  ) but they are responding! There is hope! Step up your lower body weights. Do you do squats and lunges? Do you have squat/lunge machines at your gym? How about TaeBo? I think there's something magical about lifting your legs above waist height in those kicks.

As for me, my stomach is a nightmare. I actually tried on some conservative bikinis last weekend. I wasn't repelled by my reflection... at least not until I tried a "bend over" stance. Yikes :earseek: the skin on my tummy is grotesque! I can't put into words the strange bumpy, rippley, pucker of skin I saw when I bent over and tightened my abs. :scared: Since I dont' think its possible to be pool side without ever bending over, I won't be wearing any bikinis :rotfl2: (and don't even get me started on those empty sacks that hang off my chest that used to be breasts) :rotfl2: I guess there's a price to pay for ever gaining the weight. :confused3

I'm with you, if money wasn't a problem I think I'd get it taken care of, too.

Thanks Beth - I just hope some of this tightens up or we'll be putting a second on our house so I can get it fixed ;)

Sunny - I think you've tightened up quicker because of your running. It definitely has paid off for you. I'm shaped like a pear too, so I know how you feel. I know I NEED to turn it up and try and be patient, but it's hard. We've worked so hard to lose the weight and now to have this to deal with:rolleyes: My abs are pretty gross too when I bend over. I wear a bikini top, but have to wear swimshorts to cover the bottome part. Just not a lot of bending over for me ;) I just can't wait to have my legs more toned and get rid of these God awful saddlebags :earseek: Too funny about the "empty sacks" that use to be our breasts. I know I will definitely getting those fixed some day ;)

Well today I feel a little better and it's not because of my weigh in. I did lose .8, so what I gained last week. That puts me at 57.8 pounds, so I'm close to my 60 pound clippie and finally getting into the 140's. I'm still unsure of my final WW goal, so I'll wait and see how well I do next week. The week shouldn't be too hard, but am nervous about the 4th. The food shouldn't be an issue, but if I can stay away from drinking, I think I'll be good.

I went to the gym this morning before WW and walked for an hour. Did my Sam's Club shopping, but still need to go to Safeway. I'm trying to get more Core foods in the house before switching programs.

Thanks Amanda!!!

I was happy to see 149.5 on the scale, but it was kind of going between 149.5 and 150.0, so definitely not a "solid" 149. I have been trying to do Core, but it's hard. I know I can handle breakfast and dinner, but it's hard to figure out what to eat for lunch. Today I had a banana for breakfast, shredded wheat and blueberries for lunch and shredded chicken Core recipe that I found on the WW website. I've been snacking on fruit all day, so having that handy makes it easier. It'll be tough not eating my regular snacks.

This morning I did 15 minutes of weights on just my legs, 20 minutes on the stairmaster and 60 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow is suppose to be cooler (85), so I will walk the trails near my house. I'm hoping to get at least 5 miles in. I need to keep focusing on my legs and try and get those toned.

I'm going to work really hard this week so I can see 147 on Tuesday.

Hi Tera,

Congrats on seeing 140's. You are doing an amazing job. With all the lower body work you are doing, your backside isdefinately going to tone up.

Take care,
Beth

Thanks Beth - I can only hope and pray that the butt area firms up one day

Today has been a pretty good day. I got up this morning and walked 6.25 miles on the trails by our house. It took me longer, almost 2 hours, but it's amazing how slow you go when your going up hill compared to walking on a treadmill. Took my shower when I got home, so I have felt refreshed all day.

Been doing well with the Core foods today. I had a banana before I headed out, some shredded wheat w/ blueberries when I got home, leftover chicken for lunch and cherries when we went to the movies. Speaking of that, we went to see the new Herbie movie, which was very cute. I brought a bag of cherries and a tootie pop (that cost me 1 point) I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner tonight, maybe some more chicken.

The scale did show an increase this morning, but I'm not going to worry about it. I know I was under my points (I am still keeping track), so I know I'm not overeating. I am a little "gassy" from the chicken (I know, TMI), so maybe it is because of that. We'll see tomorrow.

Otherwise it's been a good, relaxing day. Tomorrow is Happy Hour, but I have veggies and shrimp to eat, so I think I will be okay. Monday will still be the true test.

Teresa,
I just wanted to say...keep working hard! We can do it! :)
