Haven't posted in my journal the last couple of days. The week has been going pretty well, up until yesterday. Work outs have been great and looking forward to measuring myself next week. Yesterday was the kids first day on fall break and we went to the mall and had lunch. I had a half of a sandwich (turkey & cranberries) with a small side salad. Not bad, but then I ate the cookie that came with it :crazy: I looked up Mrs Fields because that's what it tasted like and that was 6 points alone!!!!! We also had our weekly Happy Hour at the neighbors and I probably let myself go for the first time since starting WW. Tried to stick with the veggies, but some of the other appetizers found their way into my hand:earseek: It was taco night, so I had some spicy beef on a soft tortilla with lettuce and tomatos. Not too bad, but it was so good, I had to have a half of another one. I had a "few" drinks, but I think overall I only used about 5 extra flex points. Maybe the reason I'm feeling like crap this morning is that I made the BIG mistake of getting on the scale :crazy: and looks like I'm a pound heavier. I know that there are a thousand reasons that it showed that (one being I was in regular clothes and not my workout clothes that I usually weight in with)

I just wanted to be down 2.2 pounds this week so I can claim my 15 pound clippie:rolleyes: I need to refocus myself and not worry about the 2 pounds, but just focus on losing one at a time. Need to be good this weekend (since I don't go to the gym and don't have those extra points) drink LOTS of water (flush out those pounds) and watch my snacking.
 
Hi Tera,

Do you have any idea how much sodium is in mexican food? Especially if the tacos are made from the mixes from the store. You are probably carrying some water weight around. I know you'll get the clippie soon. Be patient. This is a long term project.

I have no idea about the salt, but that's a good point. Yesterday I did very well and stayed within my points, even though I didn't get any workout in (does doing laundry count:p ) I made the mistake of getting on the scale again this morning(you think I'd learn my lesson) and I'm up 2.5 pounds!! How does that happen????? Of course, wearing jeans again, but I can't imagine that they weight 2.5 pounds:crazy: I told my DH that the only thing I can think of is that I'm building muscle and that's what the weight gain is from... is HAS to be. Today I plan to drink TONS more water and stay OP and tomorrow I will have a good long workout and hope by Tuesday, whatever this is, is GONE. Won't count on my 15 clippie this week, but will be going for it next.

I know this is a long term program, but there is no room for gaining weight, especially THAT much. I can see putting on a couple of ounces or even a pound, but not 2.5 pounds.
 
Tera, try not to worry about it. Drink your daily dose of water, keep your meals as on plan as possible and for heavens sake woman, stop getting on those wretched scales in that heavy clothing! :p I'm sure it's just water weight and if you keep on plan until your weigh in Tuesday I'm willing to bet it'll be gone. I know we both have our eyes on that 15lb. clippie! We will get there, I'm betting we will both have them before October comes to an end. ::yes:: Keep your chin up, you're doing great! :)
 

Thanks Michelle... your so sweet. I had been bumming all day today until I read your post. I'm sucking down the water today (feel like a :fish: ) Haven't been snacking (even with football on) and will be good at dinner (sort of ;) ). Tomorrow I'll get back to the gym and have a good work out, and I agree with you, by Tuesday I'll be fine. Even if I don't lose, I'm going to measure and I'm sure I'll be down inches.

We'll do our 15 pound clippie dance when you and I get it:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Today I feel a little better. I weighted myself before the gym and I'm 195. I relieved that I hadn't gained weight, but now I'm a little disappointed that I haven't lost anything. I knew I would hit that plateau, but didn't think I would hit it so soon. Went to the gym this morning (actually set the alarm since kids are off) and did weights for 30 minutes, cardio for about 30 and walked on the treadmill for an hour. The treadmill is getting kind of boring, so I think I will do the stair machine and then the bike for awhile. I'm just hoping that I can lose even one pound for my weight in tomorrow, just to know that I'm still doing things right.

Katie has been a pain today and it doesn't help. I'm not eating because of it, but just puts me in a crappy mood. Tomorrow I'll go to the gym before my WW meeting, come home and shower than head off to bowling. It's nice having a break from running the kids around to their volleyball games and choir.

Teresa, I've just read through your journal. Sorry it has taken me so long to visit!! :wave2:

You're doing a great job! I know it's hard to be patient but you'll see those results! Your workouts have GOT to be building muscle so your measurements will tell you more than the scale. It's a shame that Weight Watchers uses the scale as the focal point for your success. Your success is about a lot more than that scale number!

You're drinking water - so good for your body. You're eating healthier foods - more nutrients! You're exercising - fabulous! Look at all the healthy things you're doing for yourself! The weight loss will happen, but in the meantime you're getting fit!

Thanks Doreen for stopping by and words of encourgement. I got all bummed out over nothing since I went to WW today and lost 2 pounds. Maybe I was just retaining some water from Friday night.

Here are my measurements as of today:

Weight 193.2 (was 195.2)
Waist 35 (same)
Hips 45 (down 1/2 inch)
Upper Arm 14 (down 1/2 inch FINALLY!)
Thighs 28.5 (same)
Calves 16.5 (down 1/2 inch)
Chest 37.5 (same)

So I'm down 14.8 pounds and 7 inches total so far in 8 weeks!!!!!

Only .2 till I get to my new clippie!!! Should have it next week:sunny:

Has been a good couple of days. I have been doing really well at the gym and have made my exercise goal for October already, even though I didn't think I would even make it at the beginning. It's nice having older kids to leave at home for a little while so I can still get to the gym in the mornings. I didn't get to the gym yesterday since I took the girls to the museum first thing, but did get a lot of walking around in (took the stairs as much as possible too). Snacking has been okay (thank God I have low point snacks around :D ) Running low on stuff, so I'll need to get to the grocery store sometime this weekend.

TOM is about a week away, so I'm sure the Bloat Fairy will pay me a visit soon. Want to get through this week with a loss and then stay the same next week during TOM.

Oh oh oh... I was feeling really good today because I was able to put on a pair of my 16W jeans that have been too tight on me for the past year. They now fit and they are not too tight were I'm dying in them :Pinkbounc I have several more in my closet that are new that have also been too tight. Can't wait to try those on tomorrow :p
 
Feeling a little ick today:crazy: Weekends are so hard for me... I wish I could get my butt to the gym or just go out and walk:(

Yesterday I putzed around the house most of the day until it was time to go bowling (bowled very well :bounce: ) Didn't do too bad with eating, but drank 3 1/2 beers at the bowling alley :crazy: Today was a little worse. Ate a whole can of turkey chili for lunch (with a beer) and then had sloppy joes for dinner with fries :scared1: Geez... I think I blew my whole days points in two meals. I WAS good about not snacking and I didn't even have dessert (not like I needed it) Not going to trip off it and get back at it tomorrow. Only 6 more days till my Halloween party... you think I could lose another 15 by then :hyper:

Tomorrow I'm back at the gym and Tuesday is weight in and I just KNOW I'll be claiming my 15 pound clippie then :teeth: :teeth:

I got my new clippie!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I was down 1.8 pounds for a total of 16.6 pounds in 9 weeks!!! I can just smell that 20 pound clippie and hope to have that in a couple weeks.

Next week is my measurements and hope to see a difference there too.
 
Way to go Tera!! I've been catching up on your journal....you are doing awesome!!! I love when the jeans start getting loose! You need some smaller pants. You are so determined and keeping such good focus...it's good that you are not depriving yourself. Take care and keep up the great work.

Thanks Gail, Doreen and Beth for stopping by. It's nice being able to wear pants and not have them ride up my butt. I'm waiting until the last minute before buying any new pants (or clothes for that matter)

Feeling weird today... wasn't suppose to start my TOM till next week, but it came yesterday, awhole week early. Wasn't prepared for it and the fact that I still lost weight on Tuesday is weird. I'm hoping this means next week I will have a big loss!!!

Anyways... been doing really well this week in dispite of the Bloat Fairy... Yesterday I worked out only my upper body with weights, did 40 minutes cardio and 75 minutes on the treadmill. Today I didn't have a lot of time, but got in 30 minutes cardio and 40 minutes treadmill. Tomorrow I'll do weights again, but get upper and lower in this time. Went and early voted (DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!!) and then picked my brother up at the airport. My two brothers fly in from Reno for my Halloween party and one came early (I have to pick the other one up on Saturday) Haven't seen them since May, so it's nice when we get together.

My eating has been really good and as long as I behave this weekend, should be under 190 for the first time in almost 2 years!!!! I need to get to 187.2 to get to my first 10% then start focusing on my next 10% goal.

Your workout continue to amaze me. One question. What is your cardio workout since you don't include treadmill as cardio? I'm just curious.

Sorry to hear that TOM showed up early, but you should have a huge loss next week.

I usually do a elipical/cross trainer type machine for my cardio (gets my heart rate up from 130-145) for 30-40 minutes. I usually only get my heart rate on the treadmill around the 110-120's unless I run and then it goes up. I walk with the speed being in the 3.0's and try to do it for an hour or more.
