Teresa should have to count the granola bars.

From my point of view, if the snacks would have been consumed at home in the same time frame anyways, then it is acceptable to bring them and not count them...

On the idea of showing how difficult it is to plan such a trip on a budget, one would hope that this gets back to Disney... :)

I have been enjoying listening to the segment because Teresa is going through all of the things I did my first time at WDW. I think the questions are discussed in order to bring us all in to the conversation about what her considerations have been.

Frankly, I have no idea how she is going to do it for that amount. But then I realize that when my family vacations, we save enough to 'do it up big.' We would rather not go, than to do Motel 6 and quick service every meal. An upscale hotel (3-4 stars) and one sit-down meal per day is important to us. This is just our style.

Good Luck Teresa!

You would not like traveling with me. :lmao:;)

Well, I'm sure we'd enjoy your company, but sounds like we would stay in different hotels :)

When we were younger and just married, we did things much more economically. However, now that we are both 20 years into our careers, have a family and work very long hours, we use vacation as time to regroup and truly relax. Since we don't do big vacations often (almost never fly anywhere and only take about 1 trip per year, if that), we prefer to spend a little more. Doesn't mean we don't like to find a good deal though, so I am following Teresa's adventure very closely.

Of course, we splurge on family trips, but when I go alone....I'm on a mission. :)

I hope I did not offend you. That statement just brought a smile to my face, because my last few trips have been Motel 6 and quick service. :lmao:

After my husband died and we started coming to Disney we were on a tight budget. We stayed at CBR but looked for ways to save money. I think the best vacations we ever had is when we had an ice chest in the room with milk, lunch meat. We had breakfast and lunch or dinner in the room.

I would much rather rough it at Disney than not take the trip.

Justin, no offense taken in the least. Just enjoying the conversation and pondering the different approach my family has now than we used to.
