*Teresa & Greg-7/1/12*Swan/Fultons/GF Marina-Epcot Character Fun-Updated*2/22*

Congrats on moving your date up. I'm not sure I fully understand the seating you mentioned but it sounds pretty cool. I didn't even realize there were 2 walkways and I've been there about 4 times now!

Congrats on moving your date up, that is great news! :goodvibes
Your reception at Fulton's is going to be so much fun, the deck outside everything. I can't wait to see it all! We just went down to Disney in October and stayed at the BWV, we kept getting off the buses at the Swan and walking back becasue they took so long to get around to BW, and we walked right through Crescent Terrace without realizing it was actually "Crescent Terrace" that all the S&D brides talk about! Glad your PS went well and you like your planner!

Thanks for the congrats :) Yes Diana is just simply amazing. I get one of a kind service with her that I am so so thankful for. It is true you can miss crescent terrace if you don't know what you are looking for.

So excited for you both!!

At 1900 Park Fare, did you sit by the camel? From the picture, it looks like we both sat at the same table!

I love the Art of Animation too- I want EVERYTHING in there!

I think the space will be perfect, I wouldn't worry about it. Fultons is such a unique and fun venue!

I like your Crescent Terrace layout.. it will be very nice!

I love all the S/D decorations! So pretty!

We did sit at the same table then because I was right by the camel. I think the venue will be unique and fun too I am excited about it.

you got to see the decorations right?

Just caught up with your plans Terease and wow! Congratulations on your new date, so close and so exciting!

I think its great that you are havign a ceremony so unique and special for the 2 of you :)

I am pleased to read Hollowishes is your favourite as this is a possibility on our wedding night but we haven't seen it yet!

Loving your TR too, fab photos of Osborn lights, I am off to view the rest of your photos on FB now! xxx

I am so glad you like everything! Hallowishes is awesome if you can see it your wedding night then you definitely need to!

There are lots more pictures coming I just need some time away from wedding planning to write the rest of the trip and the wedding plans!

Aww sweetie so happy for you about the date change!!! Great news!! Thanks for the lovely photos of the Swan - makes me miss it so much. So glad you liked Diana - I thought she was so sweet when she helped out at our VR!! Good to see some pictures of Karen too!!
The way you are having your ceremony sounds lovely too!!!

so i did not even realize those pictures include Karen. We knew it was another person wanting to get married but we did not find out who they were. That is very funny! I hope you will be back to see Disney soon.

That is so exciting that you are able to move your date up :). You must be so excited!!!!

we are both very excited!

Fulton's sounds awesome! I love that you have a deck to use as well. At my wedding the church we used had two aisles, and although I didn't like it at first I was happy with how it turned out. The girls walked down one aisle the guys down another, and then I chose one to walk down and we all did the recessional up the other aisle.

I am not sure which one I will walk up. It is kind of a mystery and I sort of love it!

I just found your PJ and love everything that you are doing! Congrats on getting it all paid off..I know that was a huge relief for hubby and I so I can imagine how grateful you were. Also, congrats on moving up your date!! Make sure to enjoy the next few months of planning because it all flies by and before you know it, it will be 2 years later and you'll have a baby(haha, at least that's what happend to me:lovestruc:lovestruc)

I will now be following your updates and look forward to seeing what you've got planned!

Welcome to my journey through wedding planning glad you could join me :) greg and I want children but we are torn right now between starting right away or waiting a few years. I will of course keep everyone posted!

More power to you girlie! I can't wait! So happy for you!

thank you :)

Congrats on moving your date up. I'm not sure I fully understand the seating you mentioned but it sounds pretty cool. I didn't even realize there were 2 walkways and I've been there about 4 times now!

yes the seating arrangement without being able to see it described I think would be confusing. it is going to be cool though. thank you for the congrats.

Teresa

Teresa sweetie - The lady in the red top with the clipboard is Karen. I know it is far away, but I am pretty certain it is her!!

As you can imagine there is a lot going on in the world of wedding planning! A LOT!

where to even begin. first things first I know I still have more trip report to do. I am going to do that mixed in with planning updates.

Last Saturday:
I got together with mom and we made a day of getting wedding stuff done! First things first I was concerned about my bra and petticoat for my dress. Keep in mind I bought my dress in 2008 and I have had it on once since I bought it. We never got it altered and so we just have what we had bought originally. I told her that when I put it on in november the bra felt really think and the petticoat made my dress look lumpy or too puffy or something. All I knew is that it just was not right.

So we went to a store called petticoat faire. It is a lingerie store and mostly a bra store where they help fit you into the right kinds of bras for your body. They also have petticoats here. So we took my dress and we got a room. The girl came in and sat and talked with me to find out what I wanted to do. She got me a bra that is a bustier type but it is made for smaller chested women to help you fill out the top of your dress and to give you some cleavage. I am not huge on cleavage that is not a goal for me for my dress but if this new bra helps me to fill out the cups in my dress so less alterations need to be made then that would be helpful. The bra is great it is thinner and moves better with my body and I liked the way it looked under the dress better.

The next step was my petticoat. We realized a couple of things.
1. my dress needs to be steamed and the tulle under it needs to be steamed REALLY BAD!
2. We had to flatten out all those layers first.
3. the petticoat I currently have is 2 layers and it fills out the dress so much that the skirt of the dress reaches it's capacity. This makes the dress not flow and hang as well.
4. the petticoat i tried on that has 1 layer made the dress puff out perfectly, hold it's shape and allowed it to hang perfectly.

These were all great realizations. When my attendant grabbed my dress around the top where it will be altered and around my hips where it needs to be tightened with the new bra and new petticoat I smiled so big and I got that feeling of **this is the one and this is how it is supposed to look**. It was a truly an amazing feeling to be wearing THE dress.

here is a picture of me with the right bra and the right petticoat. The dress is not being held tight around my chest or hips like it will be once it gets altered I was trying to hold it. Let me know what you think.

Now on to shoes:

The next thing we needed to do was find my shoes. I was trying to get a fitting with my dress maker for this coming weekend so I needed to have my shoes. I had two options in my head.

1. satin shoes to send to a girl on ETSY to have her hand paint star wars stuff on them
2. a non satin shoe in a good color or pattern to just wear...possibly with a peacock shoe clip.

We ended up shopping for hours. The fashion right now seems to be super tall platform heels. I do not want super tall heels even though that is what I normally go for. I want shorter so that I can find platform flip flops to change in to and there won't be a huge height difference and therefore my dress won't drag a lot.

We decided 3-3 1/2 inch heels were as high as we wanted to go and thus the shopping continued.

We found a purple suede shoe at steve madden and it was actually comfortable and actually in my size which in dress shoes is a 5-5 1/2. In normal shoes I am a 6 1/2. Mom was concerned about suede in the summer and I told her I did not think it would matter. They were the only pair we found all day and so we decided to get them. So here they are.

With a peacock feather next to it just to get a feel for if they would go well with a smaller shoe clip or with the colors.

Next up DIY:

Here is the list of the items I am going to DIY for the wedding:
  • save the dates
  • invitations
  • wedding favors
  • staged exit confetti
  • programs
  • table place cards

Right now I am focusing on the save the dates and how I am going to put these together. I have the file formats for some different sizes and I shared the new square design on the Disbrides FB group. I am leaning towards a translucent vellum petal pochette with the save the date card, itinerary card and stay connected card all folded within the pochette. This will make them squares and so that will increase the postage but I do not really care. I need to make a sample and weigh it so I can order stitch postage from zazzle.

Here is the normal 5x7 save the date:

Here is the square 6x6 save the date:

Here is the information/itinerary card:

Here is the Stay connected card:

the wedding invitations are not complete yet I need more information so I am not worrying about what I am going to do with them but I am sure they will be a pocketfold design.

programs: I have decided I want to do mickey head fans but on one side of the fan will be a wedding mad lib and I will tie a golf pencil to the stick of the fan with a ribbon so they can fill in the mad lib. The other side will have the wedding ceremony information

table names: we have decided each table will be named a disney movie. I am going to print a picture from the movie or color a picture from a coloring book for each movie and put them in a frame that will go on the table.

table place cards: to go with the table names the place cards will have the person's name on the front and then under their name they will be assigned a character. This will be their table assignment. They will have to rack their brain for what movie their character goes with or they can ask fellow guests. Some of them may just know because they are disney geniuses. We are hoping this will encourage more interactiveness among guests and that people will have fun with it. We know some people may not know and may get confused but that is ok because if they sit in the wrong spot then they sit in the wrong spot and they have to talk to new people. One thing I thought of is making sure people get the right food. I am going to make a diagram of who should sit where and if it gets messed up then I am sure diana can help to fix it and make sure people get their right entree.

staged exit confetti: for this I am going to use biodegradable eco confetti. I will put it in organza bags or in little paper sacks. it will most likely be blue and purple or purple and white. This kind of confetti can be cleaned up by spraying water on it and it disappears.

favors: since we moved the wedding we now can not do my previous plan. My new plan is this. Small terra cotta pots with a ribbon tied around them. Wildflower seeds that are a hummingbird/butterfly mix that will grow in the texas and chicago regions. The seeds will be in an organza bag and placed inside the pot. There will also be a typed note thanking them for coming and asking them to plant these and enjoy them at home or on the side of a road. These will be placed inside black chinese food style boxes that will have a metallic imperial logo on the outside of the box.

so that is where I am currently. I have my dress appointment sunday and mom and I on saturday will be walking through all the details of all the plans because I have not shared those with her yet and then we will try to decide 100% how we will do the save the dates and start going to craft stores and paper stores.

WOO HOO fun packed weekend.

may the force be with you,
Teresa

I know you already got shoes, but I thought of a pair I have on my pinterest board when I saw your idea for the peacock feather....

Check out these from modcloth

You look absolutely gorgeous in that dress! Once you get it altered it will be completely stunning.

The shoes are so fun! I love the color, and you can really see how it works with your theme when you hold the peacock feather next to it.

Love your save the dates! Also your program idea sounds really cute. Your wedding sounds like so much fun! I would love to be "assigned" a Disney character. Can I come?? ;)

Great update! Your dress is gorgeous and looks perfect on you, it's so exciting when you have the "I'm wearing THE dres" feeling!

I love your STDs (although I'd love anything Star Wars themed haha) My favourite is the square.

First, let me say that I love your dress! And you should feel really good about loving a dress you bought in 2008! That means it really is THE DRESS!!!

Second, I love your Star Wars theme, so cute! I saw your post on FB earlier today. I am excited to see your DIY projects. I am planning on doing some also and it is fun to see other creativity flow!

Just got caught up on your PJ, and you've had so many changes, it's absolutely amazing! Everything sounds so exciting!

That dress is absolutely spectacular, even in that photo with it not fully altered. It's going to be gorgeous when it's made into a perfect fit! Also those shoes with the peacock feather are fantastic, I'd love a pair for myself! Haha. Looking forward to reading more!

You look SO beautiful and happy in that dress!

3½ inch heels?! Holy flying monkeys! ;)

I am so excited to see your SW shoes and all of the projects you're doing. The favors sound adorable - I wish I could go to your wedding. Flowers AND to use my brain for trivia for seating? Total win. :goodvibes

Your dress looks amazing! Love it. Can't wait to see it all together with alterations and such. I love your shoes too! Perfect color!

Your Save The Dates look awesome! Love them. I want me some cool STD's! ;D Too bad I'm already past that stage haha. =] I can't wait to see them all printed and assembled.

I just recently started thinking about all my DIY's.. and as far as your favors go.. did you see the seeds that come inside of biodegradable paper? A friend of mine gave them out at her wedding the other weekend.. it was in the shape of a heart and you just plant the whole thing! Can use it as a favor tag too by placing a little paper on it as well (that would be removed before planting)? Just a little idea I thought I'd share! If you'd like I can find out where she got them from??

Your dress looks great on you and you look so unbelievably happy in it too! I missed the part about why you've had it for so long, did you just fall in love and buy it to wear when you met your prince? The shoes look awesome with the peacock feather. Nice pick!

As I told you in the text....I LOVE YOUR DRESS!!! :)

I love the "stay connected"....I love the wording!

Jilian,
Hey so I have been engaged before. I was engaged from 2005 to 2008. The wedding was supposed to have been in 2009 so I finally got my dress summer of 2008. Well shortly after I found THE dress the relationship took a down turn and well it ended in late 2008. I have had the dress ever since and I have thought about selling it but never did. When greg and I got engaged I told him about the dress and asked if I could wear it or if he had an issue because it had been bought for my wedding that never happened. He said he did not care and so to make sure I did the dress collage earlier in my PJ he picked the dress as his favorite and as the one he thought was my dress. He has seen these pictures of me in my dress I don't really care. When I have it on the day of the wedding all altered and my hair and make up done it will still have the same impact other brides have had i think.

I am very happy in it I do really love it. I have not seen another dress since that I like as much and I looked at some last weekend.

Your dress looks amazing! Love it. Can't wait to see it all together with alterations and such. I love your shoes too! Perfect color!

Hi girl,
-I am glad you like the dress! and the shoes!
-Oh I am so glad you like the STDs I am glad I found her to do my design.
-I have seen the papers with the seeds in them. I think they are great and I like the idea but I wanted something more substantial because I have these chinese food boxes to use for favors. originally I was doing christmas ornament balls but with the date change I needed something different. I also really like the seed mix that is hummingbird and butterfly. I am also afraid the seed paper would be too big to plant in the little pot. although the pot is really probably not going to be used it is more there for cuteness. what do you think? ideas? I am open to changing the favors up so please give me more ideas.

Total win. :goodvibes

-3 1/2 is not that high I think that is about average heel height...maybe I am wrong
-oh I would love to invite my disbride family :) I am glad you like the ideas it makes me feel better that other people think they are good ideas

Aww, darn! I'm gonna have to look up the shoes now, since curious minds are curious ;) I made Doug's day today by telling him I want to watch SW again. He's thrilled that I loved them - and that I'm fine with him using the Imperial March in the ceremony :)

Too bad it isn't possible to rearrange the country. That way we could all be closer to FL and it wouldn't cost a fortune to get down there. :rotfl:

Love the dress and the shoes!!!

I think your paper is just super fun! Can't wait to see them complete and printed!

I think we're doing the bio. confetti too! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

The favor idea is super cute! I've seen that at a few weddings and the guests always like the little pots!

And, I really love the table numbers and character assignments- so fun!!
