Keep tossing around the idea of sctaching one of my other choices to try Teppanyaki. How would you rate this restuarant and should I trade it for any of the other's listed below?
( Never tried)
Whispering Canyon
Maya Grill
Coral Reef

We are also eating at(favorites)
Le Cellier (twice)
Chefs de France
Concourse
mama Melrose
Alfredos
Ohana

We are eating at the Teppanyaki our first night (Sept.25) My travel agent suggested it and she has been there and liked it.
Have you seen the menu? God I hope they let me have the steak and scallops on the dining card!!!!

We are also doing the Whispering Canyon because my seven year old loves the western theme, he runs around the house dressed as a cowboy all the time.

I think all your choices are good!

We ate there last Sept and did not go back in Feb. It was good food and a lot of fun watching the chef, but if you go to Benehannas(Sp) you will not be impressed by Tep. It was worth the trip one time but we will not go back. We loved the food at Whispering Canyon and requested to be away from all the action, the skillet is wonderful. Our service still played along with different things, but we have 2 times never been out in all the hoopla. I would pick Whispering Canyon over Tep any day. Food was excellent and so is service. :sunny:

My kids loved it. We go every year ay least once. We usually go at lunch though because it is pricey.

Teppanyaki is one of our favorites and a must do each year. My DS chose it for his birthday dinner in October. You can have the steak and scallops on the DDP, that is what I had. Personally, I would replace the Coral Reef for Teppanyaki, but that is just my opinion. I think it gets many mixed reviews (but so does Teppanyaki).
Good Luck with your decision.

If you go to Teppanaki check the schedule for Miyuki the candy artist. We watched her while we waited and she made the kids awesome lollipops. DS got a dragon and DD got a seal.
DD gets the veggie meal every trip and DS gets kids chicken. He is a verrry picky eater and loved this place. I think it is because of the way they cook it in front of you and the novelty of eating w/chop sticks. Our chef caught shrimp tails in his hat and pocket, juggled the condiments and made a volcano out of an onion. Pretty cool. :thumbsup2

We haven't been to Teppanyaki for a few years, but it's just like any other teppan table Japanese place. Nothing spectacular, but we've had good food and a good time there. We are thinking about trying it this trip, as we haven't found a Teppan style place here in FL yet.

Regarding your choices, we ate at Coral Reef in May and really were dissappointed. The food was just short of dreadful, service not much better. I would skip that--or your double booking at Le Cellier. Granted, I'm not a huge Le Cellier fan, but if I wanted to try something new, I would give up a double stop somewhere else.

Enjoy!

PS - I agree about Miyuki, she is amazing!

They do not take the Disney Dining Experience card which I do find annoying as we have that card and prefer to patronize the restaurants that honor it, but........we always eat there once on our vacations. Food is good, show is fun, and service is good as well. Our children love it as well even as grown ups now.

Interesting you said that. My DH wanted to go to Teppanyaki, but I said we have Benihana here, so let's save our ADRs for something else. He said, but we don't go to Benihana. (You take it for granted when it's close by.) Having not been to Benihana, I wanted to know if it's a similar experience to Teppanyaki, and if so, we are not really missing anything by not having an ADR there. (We can just eat at Benihana when we return from our trip, lol.)
