What is everyone's opinion on these 2 places? Is one better than the other? What makes them different? Do they both have the tables where they cook the food in front of you? Do you sit with other people/parties at the Hibachi Tables?

We have been to both and they are both good choices. Tokyo Dining does not cook your meal in front of you and you don't share a table with anyone. The window views here are great of the Epcot lagoon. We also enjoyed Teppan Edo.

Here are a few pictures of us at Tokyo Dining taken in June.

I see you have little ones in your signature. Tokyo dining might be a better choice since the grill is right there in front of you at Teppan Edo and it is very hot. When we took DS there when he was 2 the chef kept saying "watch the grill it's hot".

At Tokyo dining the kids meals come in a plastic monorail tray.. it was really cute of course you don't get to keep it but it is cute for the meal to come in. They also give the kiddos a small toy out of a basket at the end of the meal.

:)

They are both OK.

Teppan Edo is definitely more fun. You do have to sit with other people though. We sat with a lifeguard from one of the resorts last time and had some great conversation with him about Disney.

The trays at Tokyo Dining are not monorails, they are bullet trains. We had dinner there 2 weeks ago and DH said, "Cool, a subway" I said "I think it's a monorail". The waitress corrected us and said "That is a little faster than the monorail, it's a bullet train." DH and I were both a little embarrassed, since we both deal with trains and cars at work. :rotfl:

We visited both restaurants when we visited. Tokyo Dining serves mainly sushi and tempura (batter fried dishes) and does not cook at your table (although you can observe the sushi being made at the counter). Teppan Edo is teppanyaki-style food cooked at your table so it's mostly grilled meats and seafood, with vegetables and noodles. You are given 3 different kinds of dipping sauces for your food.

We enjoyed both very much! :)

Someone had posted on here on a previous thread that Teppan Edo also serves the kids food in the bullet train/monorail plate. Is that not the case? Does Teppan Edo offer Chicken or Shrimp Tempura? Or does it just come grilled only?

I don't remember Teppan Edo having tempura, but then I had already stuffed myself on it earlier in the week at both Tokyo Dining and Yak & Yeti so I could have EASILY overlooked it on the menu :teeth:

I am sure someone else will surely know........

We ate at both and I would easily recommend both too.:thumbsup2

Your determining factor: what kind of dinner do you want?

Teppan edo is basically grilled meats, udon noodles, and veggies. The whole experience is the chef and cooking at the table. It is a real show [with the right chef];) Downside: it is communal eating. You are sitting with other guest which is nice and not so nice sometimes.:confused3

Tokyo dinning, is a lovely room, mostly serving sushi or tempura. It is a relaxing meal and more traditional resturant service. With lovely Japanesse flavor.;) And a great view of world showcase.

Have a wonderful time.:wizard:
