Teppan Edo reviews

AWESOME!!!!! This is a must do restaurant for me. It is very filling, and very tasty. Prepare to have a lot of time though. Each time we've been, we've been there for about 2 hours.

for me, it was OK, but it didn't blow my socks off (but it could be that is because my son was screaming the whole time, so it was hard to enjoy :confused3 )

Teppan Edo was our first meal as a married couple :lovestruc
We weren't sure what to expect but it was a fantastic meal. Our waitress was lovely ( she even gave us free dessert when she saw our badges) and the chef kept us entertained as she cooked our meal in front of us. The food was very very good and we can't wait to go back.

Yay! I was thinking of doing this for our first night dinner on arrival day. I was going to book for 6pm, but since it takes a while to dine there I may move it up an hour. My kids love, love, love the hibachi restaurant near our house, so I think they'll really enjoy this.

I'm thinking of adding to my adr list. What are your thoughts?

It is my Favorite place to eat when we go to Disney!! So much fun with them cooking in front of you. Very entertaining. The food is sooooo good!!!

Fun time with great food! You can not go wrong!!!:thumbsup2

We are going there for the first time in December. My DH is very big into the hibachi style cooking, so I booked this as a surprise. This too was a last minute ADR that I just happened to come up upon....for some reason this restaurant seems to be hard to get in with good times, but I was able to snag a 6:10pm ADR on a night that Epcot is open until 12:30am. The only question I have is, we have a 6 and 8 yr. old, is it something that my kids would like? I am not worried about food because they both like chicken, steak, and shrimp...I more or less was wondering about the atmosphere and experience.

We loved loved loved it! While I am only 20 (no kids!) I think the atmosphere would keep them entertained. There is definately lots to look at and LOTS to eat.

We did wait 40 minutes past our ADR time but they said they were having issues with a couple of their cooktops so :confused3 We misses Illumination because of it but were able to catch it later in the week.

I still dream about that meal. Yum, we are definately going back.

It is very good. Truthfully though if you have eaten at any Japanese restaurants in your home town it isn't any different. I'm not not saying anything negative because I really enjoy the Japanese meals, just saying that is pretty much the same experience I have at the Fuji restaurant 10 miles from my house.

Each time we've been, we've been there for about 2 hours.

Two hours!! Wow - we have 7:20 pm ADR's for the night we arrive. Will we be done in time for Illuminations at 9:30? Any where at or near Teppan Edo where we can watch Illuminations if we get out late?

I had considered getting a later ADR - but I am guessing now that if we plan to eat later we would miss Illuminations.

2 hrs wow! i have an adr there for lunch... what makes it take so long.. any way around this... is 2 hrs standard?? I dont want to be there THAT long geez!

Oh YES! would definately recommend it. 15 of us went and had a GREAT time...

We just ate there tonight (10/4). It was good, not great. But we have so many of these where we live and they all do the same "act" = the onion volcano, the shrimp caught in the hat, etc. The food was good except it took forever to get my dd's kids meal (she got the tempura shrimp and chicken - it was awful - so she ended up eating our vegetables and rice). And today it was sooooo hot and sitting in front of a really hot grill just didn't make it better. I think it if you know the people at your table it can be fun but the two families we sat with didn't say anything and I'm sure they were sick of us because we talked the whole time. It's really loud there also. It was hard to hear and understand the waitress and I felt like we were just nodding along with her.

We went a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it tremendously! My kids (dd14, ds12, dd11, and dd4) thought it was one of the best meals of the week. My ds kept saying that his tastebuds were having a party! I died laughing. The shrimp is very good. It was our favorite. The chocolate ginger cake was also to die for!! We'll definitely hit this place when we go next year.

We are all big fans of the teppanyaki style, and Teppan Edo was no exception. We loved the flavors and the presentation.

We went last week and really enjoyed the food and the show but... it did take a long time, we were there at lunch and it was almost 2 hours, the service was very attentive and quick at the start but then we waited a while for the chef and after that the service was VERY slow, especially desserts & the cheque.

Also it is VERY loud and difficult to understand the chef at times which can spoil some of the jokes!!

Overall though a good experience and we would go again.

:goodvibes

We ate there a couple of weeks ago. Food was pretty good, but took a very long time to get it. We had a 6pm adr, and we were seated by 6:05, but the chef did not come to cook until 7pm! Then the family we sat with ordered vegetarian meals (not the dad) and they wanted their food cooked first without ours on the grill. It was not good enough to separate ours from theirs, like they usually do. Consequently, we sat there for another 20 min. with no food, while they ate theirs. Then we had to wait again for him to cook ours. I believe that the restaurant should have given us something on the house to eat while we waited for our dinner to finally be prepared. Be prepared for a long meal.

This was our first time at Teppan Edo and I was a little aprehensive about it. I am not big on Japanese food to begin with and didn't expect much. Boy, was I wrong!! The service was great, the entertainment was great and the cook was very informative about his country and the area he was from. The food was excellent! One of the party doesn't like seafood but that was not a problem. There was steak and veggies and noodles all of which she devoured!!!

for me, it was OK, but it didn't blow my socks off (but it could be that is because my son was screaming the whole time, so it was hard to enjoy :confused3 )

That sounds exactly like our meal.:lmao: I wasn't at the table for most of the meal, but the part I did experience was good. My older kids seemed to enjoy the chef and the meal. I would do this meal again; it's not a must-do for us, but it was enjoyable.

Love it, love it, love it! We hadn't eaten there since our honeymoon in 1992, and went back this summer with DD13, DS9, and DD6. All of the kids agree that it was their favorite meal of the trip. It did take a fair amount of time, but it was a ridiculously hot day, so we were all glad to stay in there as long as possible.

I think it's a beautiful restaurant. Even the bathrooms are pretty. The service was wonderful, and we all loved the food. DD13 is a vegetarian, and the chef even thought to cook her food first so that it wouldn't be on the grill with the meat. Also, it was her birthday and they gave her a chef's hat with her name written on it in Japanese.

It was a big chunk of change, but we were all delighted.

Here's a secret: we had our grownups' night out the night before at Jellyrolls, and I was feeling, um, a little under the weather. Ordered the salad with ginger dressing, and I was good as new right away.
