Teppan Edo or Raglan Road?

We went to teppan edo last year and my kids loved it. They really wanted to go back this year and I do have an ADR there. However, the more I look at our plans and restaurant choices, I really want to try something new. Raglan road really appeals to my husband and I. I am wondering if my kids will enjoy it. I have looked at the menus and my kids aren't that picky. Is the food and atmosphere there good enough to give up my Teppan edo ADR?

We did Raglan Road during the fireworks and that was good but the food was so so. We would do Teppan Edo again if given the choice.

We really enjoy both and do both most years. How old are your kids? Raglan Road is an Irish Pub atmosphere. It is very loud in the evening. There is a band and Irish step dancers as well. I think most kids enjoy it.

I much prefer Teppan Edo.

Teppan Edo is by far our favorite. We've done raglan road and it wasn't anything super special in our eyes..

Raglan Road is one of our favourite spots anywhere on property. We hang out there all the time. May even head there tonight actually.

Teppan Edo is very good and we have eaten there a good 10 or 12 times, though I believe the portions to be smaller than at any local hibachi style restaurants. The food is good there, no question. I also feel a bit rushed when we eat there for whatever reason. I understand they work on turnover -- Still.

Raglan Road is a bit more lax, as others have mentioned it is of course an Irish pub scene so it can get rather loud at times. It's more of a laid back spot to me and you can unwind and not feel you have to be done at a certain time.

If you want different than I say Raglan Road and I'd cast my vote there. To each their own of course. Enjoy your trip!

I would've said the opposite. We've done Teppan Edo but found the food to be so-so. About what we'd get at any Teppan restaurant in our hometown. We would do Raglan Road if given the choice.

I would take Raglan Road over Teppan Edo more often than not, but mainly because we have the hibachi steakhouse option at home...and we do not have anything like Raglan Road nearby. Both of our kids are dancers, so they enjoy the general feel of RR. However, if going to RR, double-check the general timing of when there will be dancers and/or a live band to ensure that it is happening while you are there (we did brunch there one Sunday, and it seems like the dancers didn't really get started until after lunch, so we made sure to time our ADR accordingly). Also make sure that you request a table in the main room near the stage, if at all possible. When we went the last time, there were lots of empty tables in there, and they still took us to a back room and dropped us at a table behind a wall in the corner, with no view whatsoever of the stage. We asked to move, and they were happy to move us back into the main room, thankfully.

With that said, Teppan Edo is good, so if the hibachi dinner (show) is not something you can get at home, or if heading over to Disney Springs for RR is going to take too much time, then you'd still be fine at TE, especially knowing that your kids enjoy it.

We're going to try and do RR for the 1st time next Month. TE to me is no better than your local Hibachi joint. TBH.

We prefer Teppan Edo but we don't have a good hibachi style restaurant in our area.

We also enjoy World Showcase a lot more than Downtown Disney (so, for us, the overall experience of going to Teppan Edo is more fun).

Finally, we typically eat at two table service restaurants per day. So the relatively smaller portions are actually a positive for us. Along those lines, we like Teppan Edo for lunch as it doesn't leave us too full for dinner.

Having done both with kids similar age as yours, I think ours would pick Teppan Edo again. My younger daughter was 8 when we went to Raglan Road and went up on stage with the dancers. That was a special memory for us. The food, while good, didn't have huge appeal with my wife or kids and they are not picky eaters. The bread pudding was incredible though.

This will probably be our last trip to the world for a few years, so making a decision between a favorite and trying something new is very hard this time around. Thanks to everyone for the advice. I love reading other people's thoughts on restaurants.

I personally thought the food at RR was divine. I got the ham. I don't remember the full name. It was unlike anything I've ever had, really. We plan to do RR again this time.

Thanks for the info. The menu interests me and my husband, but I wanted to see if people thought the food was good. I have heard a lot about the "amazing bread pudding", but not much about actual dinner items.

Haha the bread pudding was amazing too. I think my husband really liked his meal too. I'll ask him about it tomorrow.

Kevin's heavenly ham I think mine was called. So good.

Both are great. We are at rr last night and eating at reopen do tonight. Entertainment is great at rr but it will be loud. We've sat everywhere in that place. You can still talk but if you're looking for simething quiet rr isn't the place.

We really liked Teppan Edo, but we LOVE RAGLAN. We have access to a couple Japanese steak house restaurants locally so the "show" part is familiar to us. Raglan's however is very unique and contrary to what has been said on other threads has several menus that definitely out strip most Irish pubs that you may have been to elsewhere. I find that kids of all ages really like it for the dancers and the way they bring the kids into the show with them. The food is PHENOMENAL!
