I have read some fab reports on the Teppan Edo restaurant in japan (epcot) but my dd has coeliac disease and cant eat gluten is that restaurant able to accomadate people with dietary needs or is it best avoided??

Thanks guys x

As far as I'm aware, pretty much all restaurants in Disney will take any allergy into account. When you make the reservation, put in a note and it will be passed on.
We did this on our last trip (I have issues with cheese) and it worked out fine. Not only did the waiters double check, the chefs came out too! :thumbsup2

We have eaten there several times, it's a great place. A couple of times we have sat at the grill with people who have shellfish allergies and they have been very accomodating. I know gluten can be in lots of things but as far as I'm aware, the main thing with gluten in at Teppan Edo may be the noodles (does rice have gluten?) much of the meal consists of meat/chicken/shellfish with some noodles and rice, you may need to check the content of the sauces as they give you dipping sauce, but don't pour on your meal.
As long as you state on your reservations and then check again at the podium and at the table, I'm sure they will be happy to help!

Hi!
Same here. I have an allergy to rosemary, and the chef at The Tusker House walked me round the buffet telling me what I could and couldn't eat (nearly all of it actually!!) That is one thing I have learnt at Disney; to never presume, it is always better to ask. I was glad I did at breakfast at Chef Mickey's, as there was rosemary in one of the dishes!
With regard to Teppan Edo, they do cook everything individually; but I don't know whether the fact that the food is all cooked on the same grill would be an issue? ie that there may be some residue left, as they don't clean the grill between food groups. They cook the meat, then the veg, then the noodle (maybe not in that order), moving it to the side when it's cooked.

Ill have to phone disney and check as cooking on the same grill would cause issues !! soy sauce has gluten in and imagine they use that a lot !!!

when I read the title of this thread, I thought teppan edo was some type of foreign food!! :lmao:
:rotfl:
