I'm looking to purchase a tent (we already have a very nice one, but it's very large and takes a long time to put up). It needs to fit 5 people (2 adults and 3 young children) and most importantly, be quick and easy to set up. It doesn't have to have a ton of extra space as long as it fits the 5 of us for sleeping.

Does anyone have any suggestions? :)

If you hve on in your area....check with an ACADEMY SPORTS store....very good deals on very nice tents.

Picked one of these up at Wallie World for less than $90

We camp a lot with cub scouts and it is plenty big enough for your crew. It has a "tarp" material floor, so very durable with no ground cloth required. I bought it to replace a $200 Gander Mountain tent I've had for 14 years that finally bit the dust. The Red Canyon is actually easier to set up and roomier. Be sure to seam seal ANY new tent that you buy to keep leaks down. This is the first tent I've ever had that you could divide up into "rooms"...might be nice for kids area and adults area.

Here is the link you guy buy online for $79.99!

Thanks for the suggestion, but no Academy Sports in our area (Baltimore/D.C.).

I would still put a groundcloth under the tent to help protect the bottom of the tent floor for sharp little rocks, sticks, etc. so that "tarp" bottom remains durable. A piece of plastic or extra tarp is inexpensive to replace, replacing an entire tent due to a small hole or rip in the bottom is not worth it.

Already planned on it :thumbsup2 Thanks!

Btw, I was reading your blog last night and really enjoying your adventures with your T@B :)

we love our Kelty tent. They are pricier than some, but we've had it 10 years and it is still in perfect condition! Plus it is easy to put up!

I posted somewhere last week that it was a Eureka -oops! I was mistaken. It is in fact a Kelty.

We just bought a Eureka, Copper Canyon, 10 x 10 from Amazon for $179.00. Set it up in the living room to see how it looked and plenty big enough for five people. Also, supposed to be a good tent ( I researched on rv.net and Consumer Report).

Any Eureka product is good. I have had my 6' dome tent now for 20 years and it is going strong (though it does need to be waterproofed). Unfortunately, I can't get the Boss to stay in it as it is too small for her liking.

They cost more but they are worth it.

Ive never heard a bad word about the CopperCanyon.....must be a helluva tent!!
