Do you think the weather is feasible to go tent camping the beginning of December? I was looking at a site that lists the average temps and the temps for that time of year for the last few years. It looks like 60's/70's is the average for that time of year. Sounds warm enough to me!

I think the weather varies, two years ago we first week of Dec. and it was sunny in 80's and the kid swam every day. We went back the next year again first week of Dec. and was in the 60's -70's and rained some every day.

When we tent camped, we made many many trips in during the holidays, Nov. through first of Jan. Some of the best camping weather in Florida!!!

In December 2003, it was in the low 50s during the day, and there were frost warnings at night. I've camped in colder, but thought I should point out that it can be cooler than average.

I've tent camped there every December for the last 5 years. It's great!! Sometimes it can be very cold, but most of the time, the weather is quite pleasant.

Heaters and tents are not a good combination, so I use an electric mattress pad and and electric blanket on my air mattress. Keeps me quite warm. As a matter of fact, most of the time I have to turn it off in the middle of the night.

For safety bring a 40 ft heavy duty outdoor extension cord and a power strip with Ground Fault Breaker in it. (Water and electricity are not a good combination either)

Yep, it was darn cold in 2003, but that was a weird year.
