Tendering in Cannes: what can I expect for a private excursion?

We are planning our first Mediterranean cruise, and it includes an itinerary stop in Cannes. I understand it is a tender port, which we've never experienced before.

We are especially interested in a private shore excursion here, but I don't know when I can realistically expect to get off the ship; I do understand that Disney excursion passengers will be given first priority. I guess I just can't picture how busy it will be, or exactly how big the boats will be that are transporting people from the Magic to shore. Is there just one boat, or many running at one time? Our official "ashore" time is 7:30 am.

Any advice on what to expect, if you've docked in Cannes before? Any idea of how long I should expect it to take from stepping off the Magic to stepping ashore? And when when it be "safe" to start our private shore excursion?

I thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.

Thanks for posting your thread . . . sounds like you had a very similar question! Which excursion did you decide to go with?

The problem is that I found a private tour that I really want to do. I'm just having a hard time picturing the whole tender process here . . .

I am leaning towards the Monaco, Monte Carlo, and Eze one. I saw awesome private tours too, but if the tender frequently doesn’t go due to rough water I’m worried about losing my money and/or ending up at Villefranche or Marseilles instead.

Thanks for your response. Looks like a great excursion, honestly, but just not quite what I was looking for.

I wonder, statistically, how often there are problems in one of these ports? I've definitely read a couple different accounts of a port day being cancelled completely due to rough seas/weather, but I am unclear if this happens once a year, once a month, once every 5 years, etc. Anybody know?
