Ten year old listed as child on dining reservations

Hi all-- not sure if this is the place for this or not... here's hoping. I made reservations for our November trip about two weeks ago, when my youngest was still nine. Last week he turned ten, which makes him a "Disney Adult," something he's been waiting a long time for while watching his older siblings ordering from the adult menu on the dining plan. Our dining reservation lists us as 4 adults, 1 child, even now that he's turned ten (his birthdate is listed in our profile, and I had assumed it would just "turn over" on his birthday or shortly after).

Anyway, I called today to check that he'd be issued adult credits, and the CM I spoke with said it shouldn't be a problem, that he's listed as an adult on her screen, meanwhile he's still listed as a child on mine. So do I leave it alone and assume it's all worked out? I don't want to deal with it at guest services at the resort-- a few years ago when my older son turned ten, we had a similar thing happen, except I didn't catch it until we were already there, and I was made to feel like I was trying to pull one over on WDW by the CM who fixed it (no, I didn't complain, yes, I should have). Anyway, advice and opinions are appreciated-- thanks.

I'd call once or twice more to verify the information that's showing. If it varies, then be prepared to fix it at check-in, if it's consistent, then don't sweat it (and still double-check at check-in.)

(Note: I'd only call again since there have been times when CMs have given inconsistent information.)

As far as I've ever been able to tell, it really doesn't matter. I have put DS as a child every single time, and half the time he comes through as an adult. The hosts simply do not care; it doesn't matter at all. So I imagine the opposite is true.

I *JUST* noticed that this was dining reservations and not resort... resort is where it would matter since it's tied to tickets and dining plans.

Dining reservations is more about the number of bodies. Outside of the prepaid meals, they don't even ask for the adult/child split anymore.

It matters if you are on the dining plan and are expecting adult credits.

my 11-year-old is sometimes listed as a child and sometimes as an adult on our dining reservations. MDE has her age correct, so it isn't that. and there really isn't any rhyme or reason to it.

since they will actually process the charges at the restaurants, i'm not worried about it. the resort and DDP have her listed as adult.

My niece, who is going with us in April, is listed as a child even though she'll be 13 at the time of the trip. Spoke to a cm today and thy said it was just a glitch, she's listed properly on their end

They'll get credits based on their age, but they ARE children until they're 18 years old. Anybody listed 10+ will be charged adult pricing and receive adult credits. As long as their age is correct on your actual reservation its fine.

Geez... I forgot I started this thread-- I think I saw something shiny and was distracted. :cool1: Anyway, thank you all for the replies-- I'll probably call and check one final time before we go, and then hope for the best beyond that. Thanks again!

I meant that what it shows in the reservation hasn't translated through to what we get at the restaurant. The systems haven't been connected. What the host sees doesn't matter to the server.
